While photography tends to get a lot of the spotlight here at B&H, 2025 was also full of groundbreaking cinema lenses, powerful LEDs, and versatile audio equipment. So we thought we'd take a moment to honor unique new favorites in lighting, video, and audio.
Lighting
Nanlite wand RGB LED Light
Yes, it's a tube light with a built-in handle and barn doors, but that's not a bad thing. The Nanlite wand RGB LED Light measures 1.6' long, has a variable 2700-7500K CCT, and puts out a respectable amount of power for a light than weighs less than a pound. Anyone who's had to do fast turnaround content creation knows that having a small, accurate light to hold just out of frame can mean the difference between beautiful, shaped shadows, and ugly overhead washouts.
Aputure STORM 400x Tunable White LED Monolight
Aputure's BLAIR chipset is revolutionizing how color accurate LED lights can be, and it's exciting to see that technology in a consumer-friendly package with the STORM 400x, available in V-Mount and Gold Mount varietals. The 400x has the tough IP65 build, stepless dimming, and high accuracy you'd expect from Aputure, packing 500W into a fixture that's only 8.71 lb. If you need portability and power, give the 400x a look.
Profoto B30 OCF Flash Head
If you're working in photo and you too find yourself needing something compact and capable, consider picking up the Profoto B30 OCF Flash Head—available as a single unit or a 2-light kit that comes with a custom backpack. This 500W fixture sports recycling times of only 0.01 to 2.1 seconds and can sync with shutter speeds up to 1/38,100 of a second. The 11-stop power range should cover you through virtually any kind of situation, and its Profoto accessory mount opens up a world of modifier possibilities.
Video
Core SWX Helix Max Ultra Dual-Voltage Smart Battery
With exciting new cameras and lights come demanding power needs, so it's good to see Core SWX step up to the task with their Helix Max Ultra Dual-Voltage Smart Batteries, available in 99Wh, 158Wh, 297Wh, and 395Wh capacities, with B-Mount, Gold Mount, and V-Mount variations. These batteries support 14 or 28V applications and up to a 20A draw, making them ready to rumble for the next generation of filmmaking. USB-C PD ports, real time diagnostics info, and durable construction are all nice to have too.
Vizrt TriCaster Vizion Tower
If you want to take your video switching and live streaming to the next level, try the Vizrt TriCaster Vizion Tower in its formidable 44 NDI inputs and 16 SDI input/outputs varietal. The Vizion Tower supports UHD 4K60 video and up to 2 UHD 4K or 8 HD video mix outputs with 56 HD outputs total. Once you subscribe to a Vizion plan, additional tools include media players, effects, matte adjustments, graphics, titles, and just about everything else you could ever need.
ARRI Ensō Prime Cinema Lenses
For those wanting the beautiful painterly ARRI look without the bulk and price of Master Primes, the new Ensō Prime cinema lenses—available individually, in sets of three, or in a set of six—might be just the ticket. Though certainly not cheap, these T2.1 lenses are exceptionally compact, well-matched, and able to balance style and precision in a way few modern lenses can. If you want to step up to the big league of lenses while still staying nimble, the Ensō series is a possible solution.
Audio
TASCAM DR-07XP 2-Channel 32-Bit Float Portable Audio Recorder
32-bit float has been making waves for a number of years now, so it's exciting to see the technology now come to very affordably priced devices like TASCAM's new DR-07XP recorder. This 2-channel recorder has adjustable onboard mics as well as a 3.5mm mic/line input that supports plug-in power. No XLR inputs here, and the noise floor isn't quite at a professional level, but for those wanting a trusty basic recording device, the DR-07XP should serve them well.
Zoom H6studio 6-Track Handy Recorder with 32-Bit Float Recording
When you need to step things up a bit, Zoom's H6studio recorder might be the solution. Sporting large-diaphragm XY microphones and four XLR inputs with clean F-Series preamps, the H6studio can record six separate 32-bit float tracks to ensure you have all the information you need when you get into post-production. Dedicated gain knobs, a built-in low cut filter, and an LCD screen with real-time waveforms are nice to have as well.
