Building on the well-regarded video capabilities of its DSLR and mirrorless cameras, Canon has just released a couple of new Video Creator Kits that center around the EOS 80D DSLR Camera and the EOS M3 Mirrorless Digital Camera to help videographers looking to upgrade their kits quickly and effectively.

Users looking for a full-featured DSLR with advanced video will be pleased by the 80D’s Full HD 1080p video capture, with frame rates up to 60 fps. Also, the integration of Dual Pixel CMOS AF on the 24.2MP APS-C sensor makes this an extremely capable and reliable option for advanced shooters. Alongside the camera is the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens, equivalent to 28.8-216mm in 35mm terms, which accommodates a variety of subject matter. The kit packs in the PZ-E1 Power Zoom Adapter, which works perfectly with the 18-135mm lens to provide smooth zoom control for the camera operator. In addition to these features, a RØDE VideoMic GO microphone is included, as well, to record higher-quality audio, and a 32GB SDHC memory card is provided for storing your video.

For moments when a more compact solution is needed, the mirrorless EOS M3 Kit offers a similar 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor, capable of Full HD 1080p30 video, but in an exceptionally small package. It features a Hybrid CMOS AF System that greatly benefits video shooters and works wonderfully with the AF motor of the EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens in this package. The lens features a versatile 28.8-88mm equivalent zoom range and has image stabilization for combating camera shake. This kit also includes a RØDE VideoMic GO microphone for higher-quality audio, as well as a 32GB SDHC memory card for saving your footage.

Why does the video creator kit seem to cost more as a kit than buying the items seperately, is the box that special?

I don’t know why the kit would cost more than the sum of its parts.  I would suggest sending us an email directly, and we could contact the buyer for you to look into this.  [email protected]
