Fig Bags and accessories are vintage-style camera satchels that have been designed in response to those looking for a stylish alternative to the traditional, bulky camera bag. Sparked by desire for a singular bag to fulfill her own needs, photographer Krystina Reynolds designed a line of bags that could carry her camera, as well as her daily necessities, instead of juggling two different bags when heading out on location or into a studio.
The Hanborough Leather Satchel is the bigger of the two current options. Made of handcrafted, premium leather, this satchel features two padded dividers for organizing your camera body and two lenses. An interior slip pocket fits a small laptop or tablet, while an exterior rear zippered pocket can hold smaller accessories such as memory cards or a slim smartphone and your house keys. Four metal feet on the bottom of the satchel lift your bag away from wet surfaces, should you set your bag down, while two gold buckle clasps keep your gear secure and protected from the elements.
For a smaller approach, the Lincoln Leather Bag is structured similarly, yet features one interior padded divider, allowing for a camera body and one lens to be protected in the bag. A rear external zippered pocket holds a few slim accessories, while a singular buckle clasp works to keep your camera protected. Both satchels feature a top grab handle that allows you to carry gear at your side as if it’s a briefcase and a removable shoulder strap to provide a hands-free carrying method for long commutes or strolls around the city. An included sliding pad helps distribute weight more evenly, while side weather flaps protect your contents in case of a cloudburst.
