Since the announcement of the collaboration between the Vitec Group and Sony, it was only a matter of time before we saw some unified products. Today we reveal the Gitzo Traveler Kit and dedicated L-Bracket for Sony Alpha series cameras. Matching the mirrorless motto, the Traveler Kit is a lightweight tripod system with a dedicated plate for select cameras. The L-Bracket is also light and will sit flush with the a7R III and a9 bodies.
This is a modern, stylish tripod system and features the same tech as Gitzo’s renowned Traveler Series 1 system such as a carbon fiber build, a maximum height of 65”, minimum height of 9.25”, and twist-lock legs. It will support up to 22 lb and closes down to just 16.9” for storage and travel. Along with the legs is an Arca-type compatible ball head that comes with a plate dedicated to a7 and a9 series cameras. This prevents rotation and ensures a snug, secure fit to your camera. The tripod also comes with a leather strap.
Along with the tripod is a new L-Bracket. This is claimed to be the lightest in its class and will match wonderfully with an a7R III or a9. The bracket improves support for the camera and can be used to quickly and securely change the camera from a horizontal to portrait orientation, and vice versa. The aluminum construction is durable while only weighing 2.7 oz and is Arca-type compatible to support many standard systems available today.
