Think Tank created Shape Shifters in answer to the call of photographers for backpacks capable of expanding or contracting based on the amount of gear needed. When empty, Shape Shifter Backpacks save space by compressing from a depth of 7" to only 3". Available in three varieties—there’s the Naked Shape Shifter 17 V2.0 Backpack that features separate laptop and tablet compartments, and a spacious, zippered main compartment. Inside the main compartment are attachment points for 4-7 modular, purchased separately, Think Tank pouches and lens changers.
All Shape Shifter packs have a front exterior pocket for the base of a small tripod, and adjustable straps secure the upper and lower sections. Additional storage is provided by exterior pockets, organizer panel, and a plush pocket for a cell phone with up to 5.5" display. Shape Shifters may be carried by the top handle, or worn with the curved, padded, adjustable shoulder pads, sternum strap, and removable waist belt. Stretch pockets on the shoulder straps are designed for storing sunglasses and other small items. On the rear of the pack is a roller handle pass-through sleeve. Stay hydrated with the included water bottle pouch, and keep dry with the included rain cover.
The Photo Shape Shifter 15 and 17 V2.0 Backpacks are for photographers who prefer built-in neoprene pockets and wraps for storing gear instead of purchasing separate pouches and lens changers. The difference between the 15 and 17 models is size. The 15 model holds a 15" laptop, 13" tablet, one gripped or un-gripped DSLR, up to three lenses (detached), related accessories and personal items. The 17 model increases the storage size to a 17" laptop, two cameras, and up to four lenses. Whichever Shape Shifter you choose—you can rest assured that the craftsmanship and materials are high quality and built to last.
For photographers yearning to spread their wings and fly—with a 3DR Solo Quadcopter that is—there’s the Think Tank Photo Airport Helipak Backpack. The Helipak has a spacious main compartment with padded dividers to keep gear organized and secure. Underneath the compartment lid is an assortment of zippered, clear-mesh pockets for small gear, such as cables, spare batteries, and more. An exterior, front zippered pocket holds your laptop and has an organizational panel for items requiring quick access. For airline travel, the Helipak meets most USA domestic and international carry-on requirements. This versatile pack features a water bottle pocket, grab handles, stretch pockets, cushioned back panel, rain cover, and four rotor protectors.
Upping the ante on its award-winning Airport carry-ons, Think Tank has made a variety of welcome changes, such as improving the retractable trolley handles, beefing up durability, and adding dedicated laptop and tablet compartments. The carry-ons feature padded dividers, interior pockets, side pockets for a tripod or water bottle, ID pocket, TSA-approved zipper and combination locks, grab handles on three sides, ball bearing wheels, and included rain covers and tripod straps.
The Photo Airport Security V3.0 holds 2 DSLRs, 4-6 lenses, accessories and a 15" laptop and 10" tablet. Slightly smaller for non-domestic travel, yet still able to carry an almost identical amount of gear, is the Photo Airport International V3.0 Carry-On. Last on the hit parade is the slightly larger Photo Airport Advantage Roller Sized Carry-On that increases the air travel, payload to 2 DSLRs and 5-6 lenses. Well thought out, the new Think Tank packs and rollers are sure to please.
