Pittsburgh Modular, innovator in the resurgence of modular synthesizers, is showing up at NAMM 2016 in a big way with the announcement of the Lifeforms Eurorack Systems and a line of Professional Eurorack Enclosures.
The Lifeforms Eurorack systems are regarded by the company as its best synthesizer yet. Available in the System 101, System 201, and System 301 configurations—they combine the company’s new robustly built Structure professional Eurorack enclosures, featuring up to 3x the power available in other brands with the new Lifeforms SV-1 modular analog synthesizer.
The cases are available in three sizes: a desktop case (96hp) and two roadworthy cases, depending on your space requirements (the 208hp and 360hp, respectively).
The Lifeforms SV-1 is a fully patchable synthesis module with dual independent full-range analog oscillators, as well as dual chained mixers, a four-stage envelope generator, the company’s renowned analog state-variable filter, and two sub-octave oscillators—a triangle and a square chained to the main, as well as a noise section with sample and hold functions. Complete with 53 patch points, 21 knobs, and a modified MIDI 3 module for full MIDI and CV compatibility; it enables full controller and DAW integration.
Both the System 201 and 301 configurations also include the Lifeforms KB-1 module, a pressure-sensitive keyboard control designed to accelerate the creative process with functions such as a sequencer, triggers, voltage memory, arpeggiator, and more.
There’s never been a better time than now to get into the exciting world of modular synthesis!
