Record Your Jams with the Apogee of Interfaces

Do you want a highly portable interface that’ll record guitars straight to your Mac/Windows computer—but (and here’s the twist) with Apogee’s quality analog-to-digital conversion? If so, then you should definitely check out this JAM 96k Guitar Interface. It’s a rather small tool, to be sure, but it’s capable of recording your guitar or bass in resolutions and sample rates of up to 24-bit and 96 kHz. Connecting directly to your computer with a USB cable, the JAM features a single 1/4" input for your instrument. The circuit design of the interface has a nice sonic quality, reminiscent of the warm tones of a tube amplifier.

With plug-and-play operation and bus-powering thrown in for good measure, you’ll have an easy time hooking this device up to your DAW and staying powered through your whole session. In fact, it’ll work with Logic Pro, GarageBand, any Core Audio compatible music-related app, or any program that makes use of Window’s ASIO4ALL driver. The device provides up to 40 dB of gain, but LEDs will help you monitor your signal to make sure you’re never clipping. A USB cable is included to boot, so all you’ll need to bring to the table is your guitar and a computer, and then you’re ready to rock and/or roll.
