Teenage Engineering made waves with the release of its PO-33 K.O!, one of the best-selling samplers in the world. Now the brand is ready for Round 2 with the EP-133 K.O. II, the next evolution of its champion sampling machine. With more power, more sampling capabilities, and a fully reworked sequencer with brand-new punch-in effects, the EP-133 K.O. II is ready to take your pocket operation to the pro leagues.
The EP-133 K.O. II makes it easier than ever to record sounds around you, from your voice and favorite synths to vinyl records and whatever audio you have on your smartphone. Sequence samples and loops and make use of a curated selection of drums, bass, and keys pre-loaded into the K.O. II.
Tweak and automate your creations with filter, pitch, stereo FX, and compression, along with next-generation punch-in 2.0 effects. With the 2.0 upgrade, punch-in FX now sport pressure sensitivity for enhanced expression. With 12 pressure- and velocity-sensitive pads, you can easily whip up immersive creations, and each pad can be assigned to one of 16 MIDI channels for external control of your gear.
You can save up to nine projects with 80,000 notes each, and each project can contain four groups, each with 99 patterns. Each pattern has 12 tracks for samples and MIDI note information, providing plenty of canvas for your sonic painting.
Use the groups to mix and match patterns on the fly. You can sequence patterns in free time or quantize them with swing for unrestrained rhythmic creativity. You also get instantaneous time correction and erase functions for quick editing. 12 assignable faders make it easy to engage in hands-on tweaking, and each fader can be recorded and automated.
Slice samples automatically or live. You can also engage a loop mode imported from the OB-4 with length and slide parameters for rapid production of complex looped patterns. When you need to import samples from outside sources, you can use intuitive drag-and-drop operation via the sample tool.
The EP-133 K.O. II features stereo and mono sampling at 16-bit / 46.875 kHz, with 24-bit analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters and a 32-bit float DSP signal chain. You can utilize up to 12 mono or six stereo voices at the same time. Once you’ve built up your unique kit, you can modify it with up to six built-in send FX, as well as a master compressor effect.
Finally, the hardware itself features a built-in mic and speaker so you can, in true Teenage Engineering fashion, sample anything around you, anywhere you are, without the need for external gear. The sampler includes a USB-C port for power, host connections, and sample import/export, MIDI I/O, 3.5mm sync I/O, and analog audio I/O, covering virtually any scenario. When you need to be completely cable free, the EP-133 K.O. II can run entirely on four AAA batteries.
Evoking the aesthetics of the past, the K.O. II is made with vintage-style keys that sport a modern touch, combining tactility with expressivity. The sampler also comes with a limited edition 10" collector’s box.
