Monitor up to sixteen SD, HD, or Ultra HD video feeds on a single display. Now available at B&H, Blackmagic Design’s MultiView 16 is the company’s first multi-viewer to support native Ultra HD output, allowing you to take advantage of large-screen UHD TVs and monitors that offer four times the resolution of HD displays. It provides sixteen multi-rate 6G-SDI inputs, with each featuring automatic frame re-synchronization to support any combination of SD, HD, or Ultra HD video sources simultaneously. Each input also has a loop-through to pass the signals on to additional devices.
The Multi-Viewer outputs both 1080p and Ultra HD over SDI or HDMI, making it suitable for professional broadcast monitors, as well as consumer UHD TVs. Choose 2x2 viewing for four sources, 3x3 for nine sources, or 4x4 for sixteen sources. The extra resolution of a UHD display means that when viewing four sources in 2x2 configuration, each source will still have Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. Even when viewing sixteen sources in a 4x4 layout, each video will have a “half HD” resolution of 960 x 540. And, of course, you always have the option to full-screen any single source when it requires a more critical eye.
Housed in a 1RU machined-aluminum chassis, the MultiView 16 is controlled using illuminated buttons, a spin knob, and a 1.5" LCD screen on the front panel. It can also be controlled over an Ethernet connection using the included control software. Its compact, rack-mountable form factor makes it ready for use in the studio, broadcast truck, or any location where you have several video feeds to monitor and a limited amount of space. You no longer have to connect multiple monitors, requiring dozens of video and power cables; simply connect all of your cameras, decks, switchers, and routers into the SDI ports on the MultiView 16 to view them all on an Ultra HD display, using a single SDI or HDMI cable.
