Now available for pre-order, the 85mm T2.2 Mini Prime is the latest addition to Veydra’s ever-growing line of compact cine-style lenses. Designed for mirrorless cameras, the lens covers up to APS-C/Super 35 image formats and is available in Sony E-Mount, Micro Four Thirds, and C-Mount options. This makes the lens an ideal telephoto prime for compact cameras like the Sony a6300, Panasonic GH4, Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera, and Digital Bolex D16, as well as larger cameras such as the Sony FS5 and FS7.
Purpose-built for video production, all Veydra Mini Primes have matching lengths, common 80mm front diameters, and aluminum housings with integrated cine-standard 0.8 mod gear rings for focus and iris control. Because the lenses have matching size and gear placement, you can easily swap between them on a shoot without having to adjust the position of your follow focus. Additionally, all lenses feature a 77mm front filter thread.
The 85mm Mini Prime offers a maximum T-stop of 2.2, which matches the other Mini Prime lenses. As is the standard on most cine lenses, aperture and focus markings are located on the side of the lens to enable easy viewing by focus pullers and camera assistants. For all lens-mount options, you can choose options that have the focus distance scale marked in feet or in meters, depending on what’s more comfortable for you.
