Superior Optical Performance

The AW-UE160 features a new 1" MOS sensor that provides 9.6MP image resolution and supports HDR/HLG resolutions up to UHD 4K60. It also has V-Log support as well as a built-in optical low-pass filter (OLPF) to filter out moiré effects when shooting in LED signage environments. Its phase detection autofocus (PDAF) comes in handy in sports and event environments, as does its optical and electronic image stabilization (OIS/EIS) and 2x high-speed-frame-rate option for smooth, slow-motion action video. Built-in mechanical 1/4, 1/16, and 1/64 ND filters also provide added light control when shooting in bright or dark areas. Its wide 75.1° field of view, F/2.8 maximum aperture, and 20x optical zoom allow you to capture all aspects of the scene without compromising quality.

Capture and Output

Multiple options make it easy to output and control, and the camera features integrated 12G/3G-SDI, HDMI, and SFP+ optical fiber outputs for a variety of destinations. It can also stream via IP for live events and Internet broadcasts using NDI|HX, SRT, RTMP/RTSP, as well as using the SMPTE ST-2110 standard with a separate license purchase. There is also a USB host output that supports a mobile access point or router so you can stream to an optional 5G cellular carrier. You can also insert audio into your output via dual XLR inputs, which support professional microphones or mixers.

Control Options

Multiple control options provide even more flexibility, especially when there’s only one central operator for your production. You can control the camera’s pan/tilt/zoom/iris or settings management via a macOS/Windows/Android app over IP, by RS-422 serial controllers, or via a web browser interface. Total control is ideal for positioning the camera in an AR/VR environment, and it is compatible with the FreeD protocol when using the camera with virtual sets. It also has a local video return option to preview the output when you’re trying to manage chroma key or AR/VR compositing.

Hardware and Power Features

For talent and crew, front and rear tally lights allow you to see when the camera is capturing live. The camera can be powered using a power adapter, or if it is installed on a supported network, it can be powered using PoE++, saving precious cable runs. Each camera comes with a ceiling mounting bracket, and it can be mounted just about anywhere with numerous separately available hardware mounting options.
