Types of Lavalier Microphones

Omnidirectional units are optimal choices for most film and video applications, as they don't have to line up with speakers' mouths, and they pick up all sounds equally, no matter where they're coming from. On the other hand, directional versions are suitable for situations when the sound sources are further away, such as on podiums, or for choirs.
