Yes. When the 200PL-PRO plate is mounted to the lens collar via the 1/4"-20 screw, the lens will fit with the Manfrotto 494 ballhead.

How does this compare to the Carbon fiber version in terms of sturdiness when fully extended and compactness?
The specs are similar the only difference would be the Carbon Fiber. Carbon fiber is lighter weight and absorbs vibration better than aluminum.

(can i get the same kind of Pan Tilt head for the MT190XPRO4 Aluminum Tripod by Manfrotto) or something close to that or can one use the MHXPRO-3W 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head Kit with this tripod.
