Would this fit the Zhiyun Crane 3S Pro?
Would this fit the Zhiyun Crane 3S Pro?
No, the Nanuk 935 Wheeled Hard Utility Case with Foam Insert (Black) would be too small to fit the Zhiyun-Tech CRANE 3S PRO Handheld Stabilizer. I would instead recommend the larger Nanuk 955 Wheeled Case with Foam (Black), B&H # NA955HCWFIBK, for your planned usage needs with the Zhiyun-Tech CRANE 3S PRO Handheld Stabilizer.

This is too heavy to go as carryon for one of my domestic flights when loaded with my equipment. Could it safely be checked?
From personal experience, checking the Nanuk 935 has been a relatively safe way of transporting fragile or sensitive gear. The lightweight N-7 polypropylene resin is extremely durable, crushproof, and impact-resistant and should withstand even the most aggressive of bag-check airline workers. However, for extra safety, please make sure there is an adequate amount of foam between items.

Case dimensions ?
Case dimensions ?
Knock about 2 inches off the length and width of the interior dimensions for safety due to the thickness of the liner with dividers it self, The dimensions listed or pretty much for an empty case, no liner with dividers. If it's just an empty case or with foam the dimensions are pretty accurate.

Will a 17" laptop fit behind the lid organizer?
Will a 17" laptop fit behind the lid organizer?
While it depends on the size of the 17" laptop (gaming laptops for instance are significantly thicker and wider), it is neither recommended nor safe to store a laptop behind the lid organizer. More than likely, it will prevent the lid and/or lid organizer from sitting flush and closing as the manufacturer intended.
