  • 1.4x teleconverter extends the reach of AF-S lenses by 40% with only a one-stop loss in exposure.
  • Advanced design maintains the optical quality of NIKKOR lenses as well as fully supports exposure metering and VR image stabilization capabilities.
  • Durable, weather-resistant barrel, along with fluorine-coated front and rear elements, support use in harsh conditions.

Nikon 2219 Reviews

AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E III is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 166.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Control Could be Better Purchased a TC-14lll two years ago, when it first came out, and found that it worked okay, but was not as good as the TC-14ll. Thought that I must have been doing something wrong when I used the TC-14lll with my 300mm 2.8 and new 300mm 4.0, so it sat on the shelf more often than not. However, After seeing great photos taken by others using the same kind of gear, I decided to purchase another TC-14 lll and give it a second try. The new unit does work well with the 300mm lens. Now I have to decide if it's worth haggling with Nikon to get the Original TC-14 lll repaired at a reasonable cost. Bottom Line, the TC-14 lll is a good investment if you can get a good one. Good Luck !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nikon new 1.4 extender I keep a TC 1.4 on my 600mm/f4 Nikon lens. I replaced the II version with the III version and put the older TC on a 200-400mm Nikon zoom. The new TC works fine however I cannot say that I notice much if any improvement in the field. I use an ancient Nikon D300s and perhaps a newer camera body would make better use of the newer TC (Nikon: how about a D300 upgrade as Canon has done with the 7D Mark II?) There are probably technical comparisons out there but for the day in, day out shooter, not a great difference. Both work very well and are a great way to add reach to photo small birds. Well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Quality Product from Nikon When I first opened the box from B&H, I heard something rattling and I thought the lens was broken during shipment. And then I removed the teleconverter from the box and noticed something moving back-and-forth in the front part of the lens. I immediately contacted Nikon support and they were very helpful. They explained this moving part was normal and was the connection for the aperture. I took a couple shots with the 70-200mm f/2.8, under low-light conditions and careful to use the same camera settings, and was very satisfied with the results. I didn't see any loss is picture quality. Can't wait to use this combination on my trip to the National Parks this autumn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Liking this Teleconverter This teleconverter replaces the previous version in my camera bag, the TC-14E II, which I had used primarily with a 600mm lens for the past three years. The new one still causes a rather loose joining of the lens to the camera body, as did the older version, but it does not seem to cause any problems in terms of performance, proneness to failure, etc. I believe it to have about the same center sharpness but is a little sharper in the corners and seems to have quite improved contrast and richness of color. Overall, I would say this teleconverter is a definite improvement over TC-14E II. If you have been holding back because of dissatisfaction with the older designs, you might want to take a look at this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super new Tele from Nikon Pairing this with my D800E and new 80-400 VR Nano etc lens. Nikon is making some impressive image tools! Have had 80-400 for year and alone it is fast and sharp. Got the Tele for little more reach. Although will still be using 80-400 mostly alone, paired lens and Tele very very fast and focus sharp. I just set camera on CL and shoot away pressing shudder release and depending on pair to do their thing. And they are. I am very happy with the TC-14 E III. Last Tele I purchased yrs ago TC16A and still use it with my old compatible equipment. Difference of night and day. TC-16A you have to work with, while TC-14 E III put it on and shoot away. Very happy with Camera, Lens and New Tele purchased from B&H, outstanding staff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, I would buy this product again. This AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E lll does an excellent job when coupled with the Nikkor AF-S 80-200 f2.8 D, the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Lens, or the NikKor 200-500mm f/5.6 E ED VR Lens. Image quality is excellent with the teleconverter, TC-14E lll used on the above lenses. In low light, the 200-500mm f/5.6 is slow to focus but works well in good light. At f/2.8, the 80-200 mm lens focuses very quickly and is sharp across the lens. The Nikkor 300 f4E PF ED VR focuses quickly and is very sharp from edge to edge of the frame. The TC14E-lll also does a fine job coupled with the Nikkor 300mm f/4D IF-ED lens; the lens is fast to focus and sharp as well. The lenses and teleconverter perform well when paired with the Nikon D810, the D7200 and exceptionally well with the D500.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific for fast-action sports My setup with this new lens is the TC 14e iii coupled to a 70-200mm 2.8 VR on a D610 body. I've been using to shoot high school soccer games and the whole set-up is comfortable to shoot for hours. Players and parents have been thrilled with the photo quality. The added 40% reach is perfect for midfield action and avoids massive cropping on distant action. I detect no loss in focus accuracy or speed. Also, the TC has the effect of spreading AF coverage so subject focus is even more accurate. Highly pleased with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good Seems good, so far. I haven't fully shaken this out yet, but so far is equal or better than the previous version (series II). I am using it with my D7100, 70-200 f4.0 and my AF-S 300mm f4.0. Yes, it can be used with the 300, but you need to set the custom menu controls to use the lens aperture ring instead of the command dial, and use manual exposure. Sometimes worth the hassle, but it's much easier to use my 1.7x with that lens. This is a long reach combination that requires great care to be steady... I will keep this 1.4x on my zoom mostly, as there is little degradation, and this combination works really well, hand-held. I took off one star because they should have made it work with all the lenses the previous model supported.
