Miops MIOPS-C2 Overview

This B&H Kit consists of the MIOPS Camera Trigger and a shutter release cable for Canon sub-mini cameras. It is a versatile way to capture images using lightning, sound, or laser to trigger your camera or flash. It features six different modes of operation with adjustable sensitivity depending on your given shooting situation.

In addition to the lightning, sound, and laser, Timelapse and HDR modes enable additional creative output, and an external port can connect to various sensors to trigger your camera based on variables such as temperature, pressure, or humidity. An app for either iOS or Android allows you to control the MIOPS from your smart phone using Bluetooth connectivity. When not using a smartphone, all functions can be controlled by a color LCD screen on the unit. The trigger also comes with a PC sync cable for connecting a flash.

Miops Camera Trigger

The MIOPS Camera Trigger is a versatile way to capture images using lightning, sound, or laser to trigger your camera or flash. It features six different modes of operation with adjustable sensitivity depending on your given shooting situation.

In addition to the lightning, sound, laser, timelapse, and HDR modes enable additional creative output. An external port can connect to various sensors to trigger your camera based on variables such as temperature, pressure, or humidity. An app for either iOS or Android allows you to control the MIOPS from your smartphone using Bluetooth connectivity. When not using a smartphone, all functions can be controlled by a color LCD screen on the unit.

Lightning Mode
A built-in light sensor detects changes in light and triggers your camera's shutter in just a few nanoseconds. You can capture only bright lightning strikes, or the smallest strikes, simply by adjusting the sensitivity. This mode can also be used to capture fireworks, or other events where you need to capture images based on changes in light.
Laser Mode
The MIOPS has a built-in sensor to detect when a laser beam is broken, thereby triggering your camera's shutter. This is useful for detecting subjects such as water drops, animals, or intruders when conducting surveillance.
Sound Mode
MIOPS's built-in microphone can detect sound, triggering your camera or flash to capture things like breaking glass, or a popping balloon. You can adjust the delay of the trigger as well as the sensitivity of amount of sound needed to trigger the shutter.
Timelapse Mode
This mode lets you specify the interval time anywhere between one second and one hour, as well as how many photos to take. The LCD screen will turn off to save energy, allowing you to take a timelapse photo for days, or even months if you use an external power source.
HDR Mode
Even if your camera doesn't have a bracketing feature, MIOPS allows you to set a center exposure, as well as the over and under exposures needed in order to make an HDR image.
External Port
A port on the MIOPS can accept any external trigger that has an output signal between 0V and 3V, such as a temperature, pressure, or humidity sensor.
Combining Sensors
You can combine sensors with MIOPS's Scenario feature by creating a custom scenarios with up to five different steps. For example, you can set the MIOPS to start taking timelapse photos only after it detects lightning.
Triggering Your Camera and Flash
MIOPS has two dedicated outputs, one for a flash, and another for a camera. They are electrically isolated from each other, reducing risk of a short circuit. The MIOPS trigger can be used with multiple cameras (not simultaneously) by simply changing the camera connection cable.
Mini-USB Port
The mini-USB port allows you to charge your Li-ion battery, as well as update the MIOPS's firmware.
Compatibility
MIOPS can be used with any cameras which have a remote shutter trigger port or an IR port, and any and flash units with a PC sync jack.

Will this work with Fuji XT3?
Asked by: Kyle
Yes. As the Fujifilm X-T3 Mirrorless Digital Camera has a 2.5mm sub-miniphone remote terminal connector (as indicated on page 62 of the camera's instruction manual), yes, the Miops Camera Trigger with Cable for Canon Sub-Mini Cameras Kit, B&H # MIOPSC2K, would be compatible for use with the Fujifilm X-T3 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Is this trigger kit compatible with the Canon 5D Mark iv?
Asked by: Donald
No, the Miops Camera Trigger with Cable for Canon Sub-Mini Cameras Kit B&H # MIOPSC2K, would not be compatible with the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera. As the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera uses the Canon N3 3-pin remote release terminal, you would have to instead purchase the Miops Camera Trigger with Cable for Canon 3-Pin Cameras Kit, B&H # MIOPSC1K, which would be compatible for use with your camera.

Do you need the mobile dongle to use the smartphone app? I am not sure why the mobile dongle would be necessary?
Asked by: Ben
You may also extend the range of your triggering system by taking the MIOPS remote off camera with the included Mobile Dongle for iOS and Android. By connecting your smartphone directly to your camera, you can now take the MIOPS remote a distance away and then wirelessly trigger the camera through the phone. The remote will send a signal over Bluetooth to tell the phone to set off the camera and/or flash unit.
