Rosco Fluorescent Paint (Green, Matte, 1 Quart)

This paint does not glow in the dark. It will glow or give the effect of glowing when under ultraviolet lights.

This can be used on most surfaces after they are primed.

While the manufacturer specifies that this paint should be applied to clean, dry surface which is free of dirt or grease, there is no mention for it being used for paint a car.

Whether or not the paint will show through would depend on the type of surface in which you are painting over. According to Rosco, they suggest to prime porous surfaces, except fabrics, using Rosco Tough Prime, B&H # ROTPWG . They also stated that if painting a new plaster surface, you should prime the wall with a commercial primer/sealer designed for raw plaster. You can then use Rosco Tough Prime as a final preparation. They also suggest using a white base coat to achieve the most dramatic color effects.

According to Rosco, this paint has a milky white tone that fluoresces to a pale blue when using under a blacklight. When painted over a light colored surface, it would be difficult to detect it. It works best when painted over a darker area.

It can be used with UV light, but they do not specify the NM needed.

Rosco Fluorescent Paint (White, Matte, 1 Quart) can be used on almost all materials as stated by Rosco. Best is to use a primer on the Styrofoam. And it is also best to test a part of it before painting it all.

In order for the paint to glow, an ultraviolet light is required.
