I have purchased and replaced this adapter on average every six months for the last 5 years. I keep it plugged into a surge protector but it still fails after a time and I must replace it. I have not been able to determine why this occurs.

Unfortunately I sis not try it while in my possession, I sent it to South America and when it arrived it did not work, it does not light up or do anything.
