This hood is compatible with lenses 50mm and longer on full-frame cameras, or 28mm and longer on cameras with APS-C sensors. The primary purpose of a lens hood is to shield the lens from unwanted stray light by extending and shading its end. Since the hood extends the front end of the lens, it provides the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. The front opening of the hood features a 67mm filter thread, allowing filters and other accessories to be attached.

Sensei Pro Aluminum Lens Hood Reviews

Inexpensive all metal hood works great with 39 mm filter thread lenses

This hood worked well on my Leica 135 mm Tele Elmar with 39 mm filter thread.

Simple product, well made, suitable for my purpose.

Just a note that affixing this hood meant that the lens cap for my lens would no longer be usable (with the hood attached). The good news, a 77mm lens cap fits the end of the hood perfectly and allows the hood to remain affixed to the lens on a full time basis and still allows for the use of a lens cap.

Can I directly attach this on the Hasselblad XCD 45/p lens, and will the lens cap fit with the hood on?
Asked by: Kelly
The Sensei PRO 62mm Aluminum Lens Hood does screw into the front of the Hasselblad XCD 45mm f/4 P Lens. The lens cap that came with the lens will not fit when the hood is on.

Would this work with the Meike 50mm T2.1 S35 lens? I need a replacement for the original lens hood.
Asked by: Justin
Meike 50mm T2.1 Super 35 Cine Prime Lens has a 77mm front thread, therefore you can thread in the Sensei PRO 77mm Aluminum Lens Hood on your lens.

Not sure because I use it on my Canon lens. But it probably would if the millimeter size is the same as your UV lens size.

If I put a 58-77mm step up ring and an ND filter on before this lens shade, will there be any vignetting? The question is assuming a 50mm lens on a full frame camera.
Asked by: Tommy
You're referring to using a telephoto lens hood with a normal lens. The only way to know is to try it. But why not get a lens hood meant for the lens you have.

I have a Fujifilm X-T100 and I'm wondering if this would work along with the Hoya 52mm Digital Filter Kit II? I currently have the Fujifilm XC 15-45mm lens.
Asked by: Nica
Yes, Nica, you'll have no problem using this lens hood with the Hoya filters on your Fujifilm lens. The hood is threaded so it can screw right on. I use Hoya UV filters on all my Canon lenses and they always have pass-through threading so they can accept lens hoods or be stacked in combination.

question

Will this be compatible with the Fuji 18-55 kit?
Asked by: Francisco M.
As the Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Zoom Lens uses 58mm filter threads, the Sensei PRO 58mm Aluminum Lens Hood would fit onto the lens. However, as indicated under the Overview for the lens hood, it is designed for APS-C lenses that have a focal length of 28mm or longer, so there is the possibility of vignetting when using the lens set wider than 28mm (between the 18-28mm range of the lens). I would therefore recommend either using the dedicated lens hood that came with the lens, or consider the Sensei PRO 58mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood, B&H # SELHMW58, which is designed for APS-C lenses up to 18mm wide.
