Kinesis R146-K overview

  • 1Description

Provide a soft support for your camera with the poly-filled black Safarisack 1.4 Beanbag from Kinesis Photo Gear. Poly filler is included in the Safarisack, although it can be removed from the zippered compartment and replaced with buckwheat hulls or other fill. The bottom of the bean bag has a rubberized-style fabric that keeps the sack in place when placed on a vehicle or other slick surface.

A sewn-in quick-release strap allows the beanbag to be securely fastened to a rack on top of a car, or other similar anchor.
Constructed of a combination of 400D and 420D Diamond Ripstop nylon fabrics, and supplemented by SlipNot, a rubberize-type fabric.
Suitable for shorter lenses, up to approximately 200mm in length
Sewn-in hand grab strap.
D-rings on the end for attaching a shoulder strap.

    Kinesis R146-K reviews

Safarisack 1.4 Beanbag Camera Support (Poly Filled, Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy to have Good size to have on-hand at all times; I use it to steady my Pentax K-5 II with either the 18-135 or 6-250 zoom lenses. It's a bit heavy with the non-absorbent plastic pellet fill and (as pointed out by another reviewer) if the pellets were contained inside another, possibly fine mesh 'inner bag' none of them could escape should the zipper creep open a bit. There is a protective flap over the zipper. I probably would have given this 5 stars if it had a lighter but still non-absorbent fill and either an inner mesh bag or some convenient means of keeping the zipper pull secured all the way shut.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reasonable value for the pride Needed to replace a worn b-bag. this works excelent. Only minor complant is the the poly inside is not contained in a plactic bag or sleve and if the zipper opens slighlty the contents will spill into your camera bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for shooting off of a railing The non-skid bottom held my camera steady on the rail while shooting from a 17 floor balcony. The strap on one end added some security as I held my wrist trough it. It adds some weight, but it easily fits in my camera bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and effective You need this in your camera bag for those times when handholding won't do and a tripod or monopod is impractical. Easily supports a DSLR and Telephoto lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great stability I'm planning on using it for a safari trip in Africa. The monopod may not be as stable and this offers an alternative.
