Dracast LED500 Pro Tungsten Overview

Featuring a V-mount battery plate, the Pro Series LED500 Tungsten LED Light Panel from Dracast is an ideal choice for the location or studio work where color accuracy, control, and flicker-free output are of major importance. The LED500's tungsten-balanced output is well suited for color-matching tungsten fixtures, while its high CRI of 96 renders colors with precision and fidelity. Dimming from 0 to 100% is conveniently done with a back-panel knob that adjusts the output with negligible color shift. The low electrical draw of just 30W means a timely return on your investment.

The durable anodized aluminum frame is supported by a sturdy, U-shaped yoke with locking knobs on each side and a standard 5/8" receiver. This compact 12 x 6" panel can be used worldwide thanks to its included 100 to 240 VAC power adapter. You can also use the onboard V-mount battery plate with 14.8 VDC batteries when mains power is unavailable. Accessories include optional 4-way barndoors for contouring and control of the LED500's 45° beam angle. A carry case is included for convenient storage and portability.

Is there a battery plate converter made for this light that allows me to use Panasonic batteries?? I found one for Sony batteries to V-mount

Can I use this light as a key light for interviews?

Yes, it will work for interviews, however, like most LED array lights the output falls off rapidly with distance due to the individual lenses on each of the LEDs. So you get a "sheet of light" as opposed to a beam. Barn doors are recommended due to the lateral spill, which could cause reflections you don't want. The accessory diffusers help soften the sometimes visible digital pattern, but reduce the light output even more.

Definitely not, weddings are unpredictable and you need a lot of distance, flexibility and speed. This light has none I’d that but is much better suited for set up scenes or interviews where you’re close to a controlled subject. My suggestion for weddings is to get a few fresnel type lights instead.

How many lights can I put on a 15 amp circuit? How many Amps per light?

Mark,For a 15 Amp circuit, you first need to multiply by the Volts. If we use 110, that gives us 1650 Watts for that circuit. However, most electricians recommend no more than 80% of capacity, so that leaves us with 1320 Watts. The LED500 runs on 30 Watts, so if we divide that into 1320 it tells us that you can run 44 of these lights on a typical 15 Amp circuit. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at [email protected].
