Designed for musicians, DJs, entertainers, houses of worship, discos, and other venues, the Crown XLi 800 Stereo Power Amplifier feature both RCA and XLR inputs as well as speakON and binding post outputs. The amplifier includes a user-selectable input sensitivity of 0.755V or 1.4V, stereo/parallel-bridge-mono modes, power/fault/signal presence/clip LED indicators, forced-air cooling, and protection against shorts, no-load, on/off thumps, and interference from radio frequencies in the environment.

Not really 200w

I bought one of these as an upgrade from my Mosvalve 500. I've been running PAS T1200 speakers that are rated at 200w. The Mosvalve is 500w Bridged, and 180w in stereo, but it had much more volume and sounded way better than this Crown. I turned the Crown all the way up and it's not even close to the volume of the Mosvalve when it was set to 5 (halfway).

If purchased this amp will be mounted in a television station Production Control Room. How loud is the "forced air cooling fan?

Crown Audio has not provided an ambient noise spec for the XLi 800 Amplifier, but with proper ventilation the variable-speed cooling fan can be kept below maximum power, thereby reducing ambient noise levels.

The XLS 1002 provides built in DSP, specifically a band pass filter per channel, an integrated crossover system, and limiters. This amp does not.
