    Avenger A630B A0035B reviews

Light Stand (Black, 10.8') is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stand - incredible how light it is I came across this stand when renting equipment. I got two stands, one was this Avenger, the other a brand I don't remember. This one stood out through its quality and great use. Great knobs that tighten easily without working them hard, and the risers are securely locked in place. I eventually sold my old stands and bought these. They are more expensive than other brands, but I consider a good light stand a great investment. Just so much better to work with, beats the less expensive competition. The diameter of this stands column is much bigger than most other stands - a reason why it weighs so little by being very sturdy and not vibrating. Great black, matte finish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy and compact I needed a stand that was less than 36 inches to fit across in my sedan trunk but that extended as high as possible. I couldn't understand why this stand was so expensive, but when it came it made more sense. It's beefy but compact. I use it to mount my Profoto B1 head onto and it's pretty stable. I grade it down a star because the mounting post on the top seems to be of a pretty soft metal. I have much cheaper stands that have been used dozens of times that show less wear than the couple times I've used this. Not a big deal, but it's surprising.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very easy to use stand I also bought this stand following the recommendation of Zack Arias in his One Light studio DVD. The stand is well built, easy to deploy and set-up. I used it outdoor without any problem. I may buy a bag to replace its original carton box. The only issue I had was that upon first uses it was still a bit greasy. I guess the manufacturer probably spread some kind of anti-rust oil onto the product, but honestly I did not like the feeling of having greasy hands on location (with no water and soap to wash hands, and still my camera to manipulate).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Solid As a pro photographer I need a light stand that I can climb on like a ladder, that can survive a fire, and that I can use to fight off bears, and this stand does all of that very well. And it will hold a light if you attach it to the top, bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great On Location and In Studio I have light stands from Manfrotto, Calumet and Impact in my collection and my Go To stand is always this one. They are solid construction and sturdy. The knobs are large easy to use (vs the smaller ones on the other stands which can be small and hard to turn). The movement is smooth. I use them on location at the beach and also in the studio and they haven't failed me yet. They are a tad bit heavier than the other stands but it is totally worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid. very lightweight light stand The most surprising thing, as another reviewer said, is how light these are. It's a great stand, though I'm still using a sandbag with my B1.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice Stands - Could be a little taller I really like this stand. It is sturdy and is not too long when collapsed or too heavy. I was looking for a heavy stand to hold a monolight and large umbrella that was lighter than my C-Stand, and this one was it! I wish it was air cushioned though. My only complaint is the stud on the top is a little longer than normal, so the mounting bracket for my monolight does not seat all the way down. Other than that, Highly Recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad Apple Sounds corny to refer to a light stand this way but, if you've ever worked with flimsy stands you'll know where I'm coming from on this. This is well worth the money! I use it to hold continuous and strobe lights, modified backdrops, or offset arms. Until you feel it in your hand it's hard to appreciate its sturdiness and ease of use. It's tall too!
