650 Remote Control is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would (and am going to!) buy this again Excellent performance for the price. I had been using a much more expensive URC remote for years and, though it was great once it was set up, was a pain to configure and add new things to as they came along. This Harmony 650 is a dream to program and has every device I need including a LaserDisc player from the 90s and an obscure extender from my home built DVR. My only gripe is that this is another in a long line of devices/services that requires a login and uses a cloud-type application. Not a big fan of that method. Still, I'm going to buy a 2nd one of these for my new family room setup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does What I Hoped It Would I bought this as a gift to my wife since she was so frustrated by three remotes to watch TV (TV, cable, receiver) and totally kerfuddled about trying to do something like switch to Netflix. So far, problem solved! Set up was quite easy, but be sure to gather all your device data first. I haven't tried all five activities yet, but am confident I can go back online and tweak something if I need to. So now four remotes are in the drawer and this one is on the coffee table. One thing I'm still not sure about is how many devices this will control. I've seen the number five (all I need) and the number eight. If you have more than five, you might want to confirm this will work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 880 was good, but this 650 ... I wore out an 880 remote. The only complaint about that remote was the always problematic charge cradle. The older software was a bit tricky, but very complete. The codeset for my flatscreen (at that time) and other devices was up to snuff. This 650? It's not as sophisticated as the 880, but quite alright except the new software is a step backward toward user simplicity. The device/codes database is a ripoff. I cannot control several RCA flatscreen functions without having to program the 650 with a worn out and long ago abandoned/trashed original remote. I purchased this remote so as NOT to have to buy a replacement original. Logitech loves to promote their extensive device list. What good are their remotes and that database if EVERY function on the original remotes are not available WITHOUT having to BUY a new replacement to teach your new Logitech what it should know without needing to learn it? As if they can't themselves do the learning for us? This is unforgivable. A COMPLETE codeset for all supported devices obviates the need for most learning function needs. Good thing Logitech doesn't manufacture the devices they CLAIM to support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TV savior This is my first universal remote and boy was I missing out! Over the years my family has accumulated about 6 different remotes that we have to switch between when watching television. I finally decided to throw in the towel and boy am I impressed! I don't know how it compares to other universal remotes but I find this a joy to use. It responds just as quickly (or even more quickly) than my existing remotes and makes it effortless to switch between the cable box, blu-ray player, Apple TV, etc. I love how you can set up different activities as well. Definitely something I would recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best desicion i made in 2015! Love this remote! I have 6 remotes that have now retired and everything is finally controlled by this. Takes a little time and effort to set up to work exactly how you want it, but well worth the patience! So happy i finally broke down and bought this. BH has the best prices only, dont bother searching around - i did it for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes, I would but this again. Bought this remote to replace three remotes (Apple TV, regular TV and AT&T DVR). It gets programmed by first getting the model numbers of all devices (for Apple TV, you need to go to Apple website to get the model number of your version of Apple TV), and then going to Logitech site to program the remote. After doing that, you have to orient yourself to using this one remote and all it's screens. It takes a while to get the hang of it. I found myself going back to the Logitech site and adding things that I didn't think of at the beginning like favorite channels, etc. Bottom line is that once you understand the way this one remote handles all the functionality of three separate remotes, it becomes clear that it is a good solution. But a little frustrating at the beginning because it takes a while to get used to commandeering three devices under one remote. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it frequently requires pressing the help button, which does truly help resolve the problem, but not as seamless a solution as I thought it would be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Universal Remote This is a great universal remote control. It is programmable via a PC application that lets you inform it of the equipment to control and which units to turn on for different activities. It is an IR based controller. I had a Harmony One that was broken by my grandchild (OOPS). I got this as a replacement. The PC application even recalled the Harmony One programming and transferred it to this remote.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm. I used to have someone from the shop to do it for me for a fee. I thought it would be too complicated to navigate the setup in the computer. With the 6 year old Harmony remote control out of order I decided to do it myself. It was easier than I thought to follow the instruction. The customer service from Logitech was very nice, when the new one could not get it going, he helped by asking me to remove all the sensor ribbons from all devices for the old Harmony, it now work like a charm. It is 1/3 of what I used to pay for the old one. I like it.
