Canon 9525B002 overview

  • 1Description

Canon's second generation 10x30 IS II Image Stabilized Binocular features the proprietary IS system adapted from the lens systems to create this compact optic that compensates for hand-shake to make it ideal for a long day of bird or nature-watching and sporting events. Utilizing Vari-Angle prisms placed between the front lens and the main prism, when the internal gyro sensors vertical or horizontal detect movement they direct the prisms to compensate and correct for external the shaking to produce smoother views and panning. A microcomputer, outfitted with proprietary algorithms, enhances IS operation, aids shorter startup times, and enable more efficient energy consumption.

Beyond the image stabilization performance are optical features that improve image overall image quality. This begins with Canon's anti-reflection Super Spectra multicoatings to reduce light loss and improve image contrast. Next, they employ a Porro prism optical path that provides a rich depth of field to enable users to better judge distance between objects and a comfortable long 14.5mm eye relief. A doublet field-flattener corrects spherical aberration for distortion-free views, especially at the edges, and wide angle 60° apparent angle of view deliver a truly immersive observational experience. The binocular runs on two included, and readily available, AA batteries that will power the optic for up to nine hours at 77°F. Designed for portability and ease-of-use, it measures in with a compact length of 5.9" and weighs just over 21 oz.

Canon 9525B002 reviews

10x30 IS II Image Stabilized Binocular is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Bought these based on the reviews I read on various web sites for my Father who is getter older and shakes a little. I will say I was not expecting them to be as good as some reviews said but they were better. Even for me the regular image in a pair of binoculars moved around a little but when you push the button on the Canon image stabilization binoculars is like time slowing down and the image is fantastic. Would highly recommend to all. After being let down by a big online retailer on shipping I found B&H who not only had great pricing but threw in a pair of shooting g glasses and free overnight shipping! Needless to say they saved Christmas for me and my Father with a great gift. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Binoculars Bought this as a gift to replace a pair of the same binoculars that my husband had. We were on a trip in Asia and had a guide who loved bird watching but did not have any binoculars. At one point the guide pointed out a fairly rare bird to us, my husband handed him these binoculars and showed him how to use the stabilizer. He was amazed--we thought at the bird-- turned out it was the binos that had amazed him!In particular the stabilizer! He nearly broke into tears when he was able to see these birds so well. As far as I was concerned, the stabilizer is key! We were hiking at a pretty good pace and at 9,000 feet much of the time, without the stabilizer, we probably would have had to stop for a longer time to catch our breath and hold the binos still! Perhaps that wouldn't have been such a bad idea now that I think od it :0) My very kind husband, added the binoculars to the guide's tip. The look on the guide's face was a joy I'll never forget!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I was initially sceptical about how useful image stabilisation would be in a pair of binoculars. But this product is excellent. I inserted the two AA batteries, focused, and then pressed the stabilisation button. After a short delay of less than a second, stabilisation snapped into operation and all of a sudden the image became perfectly still. I will never go back to non-stabilized binoculars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Canon Quality, Lightweight, and Image Stabilization! My wife and I were looking to upgrade from the cheap Bushnell Ensign 10x25's that we've had using for so long. In our later years we have gotten interested in photographing birds and wanted something better. The Canon 10x30 binoculars are great for locating the birds prior to using the long lenses of the camera system to take photographs of the birds. Both my wife and I are in our sixties and it was important to us that the binoculars would be light enough to carry all day. That includes hanging them around our neck while we walk and holding them while looking through them. The binoculars, loaded with two AA batteries weigh 629 grams (22.2 ounces). We also needed something to compensate for our old shaky hands, and the Canon's do. Isolate a bird with the binoculars, then press the button that activates the Image Stabilization feature. The image just freezes in place and allows one to concentrate on the subject. The image stabilization feature is expensive, but if you can afford it, it is well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice binoc Honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. It's smaller and lighter than I was expecting. Both nice! The IS operates just like the EOS lenses, which is to say, close to perfect. Only comes with eyepiece covers. Nothing for front lenses. The case, pouch really, is not much. Not convinced it'll give much protection, but we'll see. Overall, very happy. 5 star for the unit. 1-2 for the case

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OUTSTANDING 10 x 30 IS II BINOCULARS I have Parkinson's and I shake too much for regular Binoculars. I love watching wild life, but haven't do so for awhile, because I couldn't use my standard Binoculars. My wife, who uses nothing but Canon products, suggested I try these Binoculars. They are fantastic! I am back to enjoying our wild life trips and Eagle watching. Thank you Canon. I am now saving to purchase the larger IS Binoculars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well-designed optic As a longtime birder, I have used and seen a lot of binoculars over the years, and I confess I currently own more pairs than I really need to pursue my hobby. I have a preference for 10x binoculars, but as I get older it does get a little tougher to hold the glasses steady hour after after. A friend of mine let me borrow both the 10x30 and 10-42 IS binoculars made by Canon. I had read that the bigger 10-42 model is optically superior, as evidenced by the L designation given to it by Canon. These binoculars are brighter in low light situations and offer a wider field of view than than the 10x30 model. But they are heavy and a bit unwieldy, better suited for use on a boat than for all-day birding. I also found that although they focus impressively closely, the image quality at close distances is a bit compromised. And they are expensive. So I opted for the smaller, lighter, less costly 10x30.model, and I am not sorry. The brightness of the image is quite good, considering the optical specifications, and the sharpness is impressive. The image stabilization, activated by pushing and holding a button on the top of the binoculars, works well. Frankly, once one uses this feature it becomes more difficult to pick up non-IS binoculars again. The drawbacks are few: you have to be aware of the status of the batteries that power the image stabilization: the lens covers are kind of cheap; and the binoculars realistically are not the league optically with larger, more expensive birding binoculars, even some that sell at a similar price point. You do pay a premium for the image stabilization All in all, this is a well-designed product that provides shake-free viewing at 10x magnification.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great field glasses Purchased 2 pair of these wonderful glasses. One for me and one for the bride. The IS feature is a must. we do several bird watches and counts for our ornithological society, perfect in all respect. Clear bright spotting even in low light. Stability at its finest. The only problem with my glasses is that the rubber coating seams to be melting off. Contrary to my wives. Her's seem to be in perfect shape. and we use them basically at the same time together.
