Canon's second generation 10x30 IS II Image Stabilized Binoculars feature the proprietary IS system adapted from the lens systems to create this compact optic that compensates for hand-shake to make them ideal for a long day of bird or nature watching and sporting events. Utilizing vari-angle prisms placed between the front lens and the main prism, when the internal gyro sensors vertical or horizontal detect movement they direct the prisms to compensate and correct for external the shaking to produce smoother views and panning. A microcomputer, outfitted with proprietary algorithms, enhances IS operation, aids shorter startup times, and enable more efficient energy consumption.

What is different about the second generation upgrade?
The newer model has Vari-angle prism image stabilization system uses a combination of gyro sensors and microprocessor to adjust the angle for stabilization. The older model does not have this newer processor. Also the newer model has improved their image and glass quality. The eye adjusting construction is easier to use as well from what I have heard.

Does the binoculars come with individual eye adjustment system?
Yes. You focus the binoculars with the usual adjustment on the eyepiece that does NOT have an adjustment then, without changing the focus or the focal point, you adjust the diopter on the one side that does have the adjustment so that both eyes are in focus.

The stabilization feature in the Canon 10x30 IS II Image Stabilized Binoculars is only active when you are holding the button.

Unfortunately the 10X30 model does not. My sincere apologies. The only Models that have this as an option are the 10X42 L IS, 15X50, and 18X50.

The Canon 10x30 IS II Image Stabilized Binoculars do not have a camera built in. However you can attach a smartphone to the binoculars using an adapter such as the Novagrade Universal Standard Digiscoping Adapter for Smartphones, BH # NOPA020001 MFR # PA-0200-01.
