The Canon FD Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Pro Lens Mount Adapter from Fotodiox allows a Canon FD-mount lens to be used with any Sony E-mount camera. It is designed to support infinity focusing and is constructed from brass and an aluminum-alloy along with a stainless-steel lens mounting ring to provide a durable, yet lightweight camera-to-lens connection.

This adapter does not support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. To control the amount of light that enters a Sony E-mount camera when using this adapter and a Canon FD-mount lens, an aperture-control ring is built into the adapter, which couples with the lens's aperture mechanism so that adjustments to brightness as well as depth-of-field can be made. To help prevent stress on the camera mount when placed on a tripod, the adapter includes a detachable Arca-type compatible tripod foot with 1/4"-20 threads.

The adapter works well. Observation: the screw holding the foot to the adapter is not secured, and it can come loose when trying to install with the threaded 1/4"x20 hole in the foot. It should be there a split spring washer at least. It would be even better if the foot was from metal, the plastic may crack after some use, considering it has to hold the lens and the camera.

Bought this to use with a set of Canon FD lenses I am stacking up. Used on my 55 and 85 and the aperture was only able to close down to 5.6 and then would get stuck. I bought another cheaper adapter on Amazon by Fotasy to see if maybe it was the lenses but that adapter worked way better than this one. In process of returning this one now.

I have FD 20mm f/2.8 & 50mm f/1.4. Can this adapter use hyperfocal distance correctly? I know some FD to NEX adapters can't achieve it. I am looking for the right one, thanks! If not, any adapter recommended? Please share ideas!

The manufacture does not list specific lenses and hyperfocal distance. But the adapter will give infinity focus.

Yes the tripod foot on FotodioX Canon FD Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Pro Lens Mount Adapter has a 1/4-20 thread compatible with most tripod release plates.

I have vizelex and screw m42 lens adapter and works very well, with this A series you don't have problems for focusing, cause have many helps ( peaking, zebra, assist focus in two ways or more ) great adapter, the right choose for the A 7 series

Will this adapter work with the a7rII? I've read that the Mark II has a slightly different mount than the a7r.

I can't answer that specifically. It's an E-mount so I would assume it works with all E-mount cameras. I've tried it on the a6000 and the FS-5 video camera and it works fine.
