The Tripod Head Riser from Acratech is a sturdy platform which provides extra vertical clearance without sacrificing stability. The aluminum platform is 1" in height and can be used to elevate most tripod heads, clearing your camera from the tripod's base, legs, or the ground. The platform features a 3/8"-16 male mounting stud on top and a 3/8"-16 female thread on the bottom. A 1/4"-20 bushing adapter is included.

Can the 3/8" stud on the top be removed and replaced with a 1/4 - 20 stud?
Acratech Tripod Head Riser, 1" comes with a fixed 3/8-16 stud. You can unscrewed the stud and use a 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 Threads male stud. The following option is compatible.

Does this mount on most tripods, especially Manfrotto's?
Yes I have on with a manfrotto 410 head and tripod. The threads are a standard size and will work on just about any tripod.
