The M101 Phase 90 from MXR is perhaps the most iconic phase shifter in the history of effects pedals. Since the early '70s, the Phase 90 has been heard on numerous recordings, and has also found its way onto the pedalboards of many legendary artists, such as Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, and David Gilmour.
With only one control knob to adjust the effect's Speed, the Phase 90 can achieve a wide range of tonal textures. It adds a shimmery velocity to lead lines and can add a dramatic swooshing or warbling effect to strummed chords. It can be used with electric guitar, bass, keyboards, and even works well for vocals.
The M101 Phase 90 is an updated version of the original pedal that was introduced in 1974. It is enclosed in the same durable orange case with 1/4" input and output jacks, however, the updated version includes a red LED indicator that illuminates when the effect is on, and employs a true bypass hardwired circuit, so your instrument's signal will not change whether the pedal is on or off. The Phase 90 is powered by a single 9V battery or a 9 VAC adapter such as the Dunlop ECB003/ECB003E, or a DC Brick power supply (sold separately).
