The Manfrotto 290 Carbon Fiber Monopod extends from 19.3 to 59.4", can hold up to 22 lb, and weighs just 1.1 lb. Flip locks allow you to adjust the four sections, and a reversible 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mount lets you attach an optional head or a camera directly to the monopod. A rubber grip and a wrist strap provide comfort and a secure hold.

There is disagreement between reviewers regarding the maximum load carried by the MM290C4US. One reviewer states that the max load for this 290 carbon fiber monopod is 11 lbs. However, the specs for the monopod listed by B&H state that its load capacity is 22 lbs. This is a big difference when considering its use with long lenses like the Nikon 200-500mm or the Canon 600mm L, etc. It's true that the crucial factor is the component with the lowest maximum load, and that is likely to be the head. I'm not a big fan of ball heads, but if the load capacity of the 234RC is only 6 lbs that puts my body + Nikon 200-500mm combo over the limit—too big a risk to take with that much gear as Humpty Dumpty.

It has a smaller screw inside the larger one. Either size should fit all cameras or heads.
