The Geared head comes with the Manfrotto 410PL Quick Release Plate. This product has a 3/8-16 screw and a 1/4-20. You can remove and replace them easily.

Is it true what some say that you also need to purchase the Manfrotto 120-38 spacer in order to get the camera on the head to reach fully its 90° tilt range? Or can this reach 90° by itself?
