Can you make digital prints on this paper? Does it have a profile?
Asked by: Kathleen
With coated papers (aka papers with sizing), the coating is the one that controls absorption of the ink and prevents bleeding and smearing. In some cases, you can indeed inkjet print on uncoated papers, but most manufacturers will not produce ICC profiles for them as it is not an intended use for them. In the case of this Hahnemuhle rag, it's highly likely that you will not get the best results printing on this with an inkjet printer unless you are able to control ink load. Even if you are able to prevent bleed, you will probably also see reduced contrast and saturation, as well as crushed blacks.
