    Panasonic AJ-WM50P reviews

    AJ-WM50P Dual-Band Wireless Module is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected I purchased this module and installed it on a Panasonic AG-UX90 camera. We are using this camera to capture worship services and more importantly, the sermons, to post on our website. I use this wireless module when I do not have a volunteer to run the camera so that I can remotely go from a wide shot of the stage to a tighter shot of the pastor during his sermon. After setting up this wireless module, it works perfectly. You need to read through your camera and the module instructions for details on setting this module up with your specific model, which I honestly missed at first. One thing that would make this better is to add a preview of the shot from within the app.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still undecided - Panasonic needs to improve their iPad app I'm still not sure if I'll keep this item. The module itself works well, is very small, and does what it's supposed to do. On the DVX200, you have to make sure you're using the right settings for this to function. If you aren't getting a wifi signal from this (and the light doesn't turn on to show it's active), it means the camera isn't setup correctly. I'm sure the specific settings vary by camera model. The issue, though, is that the iPad app you use with this module is very lacking. I could see it being useful in certain very limited circumstances, but it isn't going to replace a true external recorder/monitor like the Atomos. It can only play back very low-bitrate clips, so forget about using it to review high-quality clips. There's no live-view, so forget about using it as a focus monitor. Overall I found the app to be very disappointing. So bottom line, the module works well, but the app kinda sucks. I don't think you can use the module for anything other than the app right now, so you kinda need to look at them in combination. I'm underwhelmed. I gave 4 stars for the module itself - maybe the module by itself deserves 5 stars, but I can't bring myself to give it that. If I were to rate the combination of module and app, I'd only give it 1 or 2 stars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quite expensive for the few features 150 Bucks for a WiFi dongle is an anachronism. Now live viewfinder image (that is the reason why I've ordered it in the first place). Even playback of recorded clips is possible under special circumstances only.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Useless for me For any reason, I thought i would send a streaming for a mobile device... No, it just make possible to remote control the camera.... Useless for me.
