The regulator (is that the right term?) gets very hot, but everything's been working fine so far.

Will this work with a Panasonic AW-UE70 camera? Is it the same barrel connector?

Yes, IndiPro Tools says that the IndiPro Tools 12V D-Tap to Blackmagic Mini Converter Power Converter (24") will also be able to power the Panasonic AW-UE-70 PTZ camera as well.
