Ideal for boompole-mounted operation in film/TV production, broadcast, and sound design applications, this B&H Kit combines the Rode NTG2 battery-/phantom-powered shotgun microphone with a Rycote Super-Blimp NTG windshield—complete with a short RF-shielded XLR and a windjammer—to create a professional-quality mic setup with effective protection from shock, vibration, and extreme wind noise.
Capture quality sound indoors or outside for your next indie film, TV shoot, or documentary project with the Rode NTG2 shotgun microphone. With low handling noise, the ability to endure loud sound sources before distortion, and support for battery or phantom power, the NTG2 offers a versatile, cost-effective solution for recording clean dialogue and sound effects.
The NTG2's elevated sensitivity allows it to produce strong output levels without having to apply extreme gain at your mic preamp. Sonically, the NTG2 delivers consistently clear sound due in part to its gentle rise in high frequencies and its rumble-reducing selectable low-cut filter. The durable and lightweight high-grade aluminum housing is finished in hard-wearing epoxy paint to withstand the stress of location recording.
Record outside with confidence using the Super-Blimp Kit from Rycote, a complete windshield and shockmount system for the Rode NTG series, and similar shotgun microphones measuring 11" long with a 0.7 to 0.9" diameter. The kit provides patented Lyre Technology and a broadcast industry basket to protect against shocks, vibrations, and wind noise—all with acoustic transparency. A windjammer, designed to slip over the basket, protects against extreme wind noise.
A Rycote 90° Shortie XLR connector is situated inside the basket, complete with an integral RF shield to protect against the kind of dirty audio attributed to radio interference. Releasing the microphone from the basket is easy, thanks to its quick release pods. A pistol-grip boom adapter with a ratchet-style release lever is also included with the unit.
