Fujifilm 16516271 overview

  • 1Description

Double the reach of your XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR and XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lenses with the XF 2x TC WR Teleconverter from Fujifilm. The X mount converter magnifies the image by 2x and retains full communication between the lens and body; enabling metering, autofocus, and image stabilization as well as the transmission of Exif data. Additionally, the teleconverter is designed to maintain the weather resistance of the entire Fujifilm system with a sealed construction that reduces the chances of dust, water, or even the cold from affecting performance.

  • 2x teleconverter doubles the reach of select X-mount lenses with a two-stop loss in exposure.
  • Advanced design maintains the original quality of lenses while fully supporting exposure metering and image stabilization capabilities.
  • Weather-resistant design for use in adverse conditions and temperatures as low as 14°F.

XF 2x TC WR Teleconverter is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fuji 2x is a keeper! I made a photo of my grandson at bat from some 400 ft and his expression is crystal clear. I also got a pic of a full moon that was outstanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pricey but worth it if you need the reach As are my other Fuji optics, this TC is very well made - tightly fitting on both the 100-400 and the 50-140 with effectively zero slop or play. And the optics are outstanding - sure it's a little pricey but I'm glad I got it as having the image on the sensor maximized when taking the shot makes for better output than cropping the recorded image.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glass! For sports/racing work, sometimes you need that little extra, and this one is right up there with the Nikon or Canon offerings. Nice and sharp where it counts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love it! I like to shoot wildlife, including birds (Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, etc.) and this really boots my Fujifilm 100-400 lens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but..... I have only been using this teleconverter for a couple of weeks and only with the Fuji XF 100-400mm lens on an X-T1 body. The good: You can definitely shoot long. I can go out to 800mm to capture wildlife. Basically plug and play. Mount the teleconverter and the lens, aim and shoot. The not so good. As I continue to use the teleconverter I believe my rating will go higher. You lose 2 stops across all focal lengths. At a lens focal length of 100mm I start at F/8 and at 400mm I am at F/11 as the widest aperture. At 400mm lens focal length I am shooting at 800mm which means I need at least 1/800 shutter speed hand holding. This translates to higher ISO and noise. Shooting higher that ISO 1200 with the X-T1 there is visible noise and over ISO 1600 I consider the image almost unsuable. You either need to be rock solid when hand holding or you need a tripod or monopod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Teleconverter It arrived early, works great, transforming my 14-150mm f 2.8 lens into the 35mm equivalent of a 150-420mm f 5.6 lens, optically stabilized lens in 35mm format or a 3.5-10x in visual magnification. It works great on my X Pro2 and XT1 but you might need firmware upgrades for older models of cameras. My photos with my Fuji X system and lenses continue to make me choose my Fuji system over my Nikon and Canon systems with their Bayer sensors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good. This lens was better than expected for Fuji XF 100-400mm(400) although it only works at f/11. Image a bit soft, but acceptable, since it can be tweaked in Photoshop. I compared a cropped image from 1.4X tc with uncropped 2X tc, and I thought the latter was sharper. Not a huge difference, so additional cost is debatable. As usual for Fuji, the 2x was well made and not heavy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT FOR ME On the positive side, this teleconverter is beautifully built, fits perfectly on my camera and all shooting data is visible on the LCD and viewfinder. I put this on my beloved Fuji 50-140mm f2.8 lens on my XT2 to use in single point continuous auto focus, shooting birds in flight. I hoped the image quality would be acceptable at higher magnification. Shooting at f8, I could only get sharp images that were around the same magnification as the maximum (140mm) of the original lens. I tested it using a fixed target at about 50 yards at maximum magnification (280mm). I went through the lens apertures from wide open to fully stopped down. Using a good shutter speed, single servo, and OIS. I found that f5.6 was terrible, f8 was quite soft, and f11 was best, f16 was OK and it went down from there. I have attached two images taken at 280mm, sized to 100% and cropped to the center. The worst one is f5.6. The best one is at f11. If you use a tripod and shoot slow moving or still targets, this might work. But "forget it" in low light or where there is fast movement or probably most things with an unsupported or handheld camera. Thanks to B&H, I have returned the TC2x. I have ordered the Fuji TC1.4x and I have high hopes. I'll review it.
