Designed to provide mid-size IT organizations with the power of Enterprise-level duplication and sanitization stations via its 8" color touchscreen interface, the Image MASSter 4000PRO X2 Hard Drive Duplicator/Eraser from ICS is offered with a cable-free drive caddy which can accommodate up to eight 2.5" and 1.8" drives. It can operate at speeds ranging from 7-18 GB per minute and features native support for up to eight SAS and SATA drives, while also offering one dedicated SATA drive port, one USB 3.0 port, five USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. It is also able to support other drive interfaces through the use of optional adapters, such IDE drives, microSATA, eSATA, 2.5", 1.8" IDE notebook drives, ZIF drives, and flash media. The multi-session capabilities built into this device allow multiple source drives to be simultaneously copied, or multiple operations to be run simultaneously, with support for the simultaneous duplication of up to four source drives, or the simultaneous wiping of up to eight drives.
For those who need to further customize this unit for additional drive and peripheral support, a separately sold 8-Port Add-On Module is available with either 3.5" or 2.5" interfaces that allow for compatibility with not only SCSI and FireWire drives, but also PCIe card readers that support Wi-Fi, SATA, FireWire, USB flash media storage, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet cards. When the unit's integrated Gigabit Ethernet port is connected to your network, users can remotely control and monitor anywhere from one to multiple units that are also connected to the network. When using a 10 GbE card, network transfer speeds are able to operate at speeds up to 4 GB per minute.
Available copy modes for the Image MASSter 4000PRO X2 include IQ Copy, which only copies specifically allocated data, Percent Copy, which creates a mirror image of a "source" drive to a "target" drive, MultiMASSter, which supports storing one or more multiple "source" images on a single "target" drive in the segmented file format, and VHD Capture, which supports storing one or more "source" drive images on a single "target" drive using the VHD file format. Available sanitization modes for the Image MASSter 4000PRO X2 include WipeOut, which meets U.S. Department of Defense specifications for wiping data and Secure Erase, which uses the Secure Erase feature built into many of today's drives, and other user-defined options.
