BlackRapid Breathe Overview

The Wrist Breathe Camera Strap from BlackRapid allows you to secure a camera to your wrist as you keep it in hand. A ladderlock buckle allows its nylon webbing to be adjusted for a comfortable, snug fit while the camera is connected using the Wrist Breathe camera strap's durable, brass and zinc-alloy CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. A BlackRapid FastenR is required to create a connection point using a camera's 1/4"-20 tripod mount. The included BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe features a large, integrated D-ring for easy use with BlackRapid straps that utilize a CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner.

A plastic BlackRapid Lockstar Breathe Carabiner Protector is also included, which is compatible with BlackRapid straps that feature a CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. By folding over a CR-3 ConnectR, the Lockstar Breathe prevents unintentional user contact with a CR-3 ConnectR that could cause it to accidentally unlock. Additionally, it prevents the metal surface of a CR-3 ConnectR from scratching a connected camera.

Looking high and low for a good quality wrist strap for my Sony A7iii camera with Sony 24-70mm lens. Very unique concept attaching the wrist strap to the tripod socket. Feels very secure when attached, the strap is nice and wide too. A little pricey I think, but so far I'm very satisfied with this strap.

Haven't used it much but do have a Blackrapid harness and all of the parts are interchangable. Sometimes its cheaper to buy something like this just to get the ring attachment and you will also have use of the camera strap when you need it. I noticed the slide part to lock it onto your wrist is not as user friendly as the Peak design unit, however I do have more confidence with it than the Peak Design when holding a heavy camera and lens.

Sturdy, lightweight, comfortable and easy to use, this leash is a bit over-priced, but what's a couple of 20's compared to dropping $4000 worth of equipment?

Great strap, I use Blackrapid camera straps and I like this one as it keeps mounting the same. No you cannot use tripod with out removing but I use an L bracket or cage so it works for me.

I've used Black Rapid wrist straps for years. Great camera security when you just don't want a camera around your neck. I have them on all my cameras.

Easy to use; very secure.

This is not the first time I've used this item. I'll either use the wrist strap, or the over the shoulder camera strap which keeps the camera at the ready But safely at my side or slightly behind me. The strap is great for having it at your hand at all times, but not being concerned about The camera being knocked out of your hands. It's easily adjustable, I would say to about a 10 inch wrist, and the fastener screws into the mounting screw for the tripod. It feels very secure when you're holding the camera and doesn't interfere with the operation. If you don't need to have two hands free at all times, I highly recommend this item.

Asked by: John
It would work with a smallrig cage, it may be a bit unwieldly and heavy for a wrist strap but it would work.

Will the BlackRapid Breathe wrist strap cause marring or paint damage to the bottom of a DSLR? The caribiner is metal so can this damage the camera finish if the strap is left attached while in a holster or backpack?
Asked by: Fred
Thanks for your inquiry! It should not cause any marring or paint damage to the bottom of a DSLR due to the special coating on the carabiner.
