Really Right Stuff B2-LR II overview

  • 1Description

This B2-LR-II Lever-Release Clamp from Really Right Stuff is compatible with most Arca-type camera plates, camera bars, and multi-purpose rails. The jaws of the clamp open wide for plates to be top-loaded quickly and easily.

The locking lever release is opened or closed by only using finger force, and once the clamp is locked down onto the plate, it has a holding power of up to 50 lb. At the top of the clamp it features three counter-sunk sockets. The center socket has female 3/8"-16 threads and it accepts metric 6 and 1/4"-20 threaded screws via a bushing adapter when mounting to a ball head stem. Two additional 1/4"-20 threaded holes are spaced 30mm apart from the center socket.

The CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum clamp has a black anodized Type II finish. Index marks are laser-engraved on both sides of the clamp so a position can be repeated reliably. The stainless-steel locking-lever has a low profile, and the lever hugs the side of the clamp very closely, so it is very unlikely to snag onto clothing or something else in the field. The clamp has a built-in bull's-eye spirit level, which keeps your camera leveled in a horizontal plane.

Really Right Stuff B2-LR II reviews

    B2-LR-II Lever-Release Clamp (60mm) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend this to anyone seriously in to photography This RRS clamp is top quality. Three positions makes this clamp a very sensible purchase. The closed position securely locks in your plates. The 1/2 open position allows your plate to slide from one end to the other but still won't release all the way so you can't dump your equipment on the ground. Once fully open you can easily unload or load it. I have several products from RRS because I appreciate good old American made products that are engineered and made from top-of-the-line materials that will last a life time! I was gonna give it for stars because their products are a bit expensive but after thinking about it, there isn't a price you can put on safely securing your camera gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It totally clamps My primary ballhead+clamp combo is an Arca p0 with the built in flip-lock. On a recent trip I saw a companion break the flip-lock mechanism. It's been in the back of my mind ever since. I don't think the p0 is fundamentally fragile, but the idea he was able to accidentally break it has stuck with me. I'd seen others using this RRS clamp and knew I liked it. I recently needed another good clamp for a second setup while shooting the solar eclipse. I bit the bullet and bought this (I have another travel-sized ballhead I got with my Gitzo tripod to pair it with) for the eclipse trip. Not a lot to say about something that just works. And that's the key: it just works. It's relatively forgiving about variances in plate widths (especially the off-brand Arca plates are pretty varied copy-to-copy). The lever feels sturdy and moves smoothly. I was able to pull my camera off the tripod without jostling anything, the lever is a lot easier to grab than the p0's built-in (which requires pinching something the size of a large grain of rice). Great item. Is it worth the price? That's an entirely personal question. I'm fine with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid quick-release Like all RRS gear, this is a top-quality product. Be aware that it is fairly large, so not ideal for compact tripods & heads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Their brand name says it all! I bought the RRS lever release to use in conjunction with a Joby pro sling strap. That way I can quickly remove the strap when using a tripod. The three holes let me put the strap off center, so the camera rest further back and out of the way when I'm not shooting. The lever feels really secure with a click-like action when locked. Much better than the screw type clamps that loosen with the simple act of walking. As their name states, they have the really right stuff!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes switching heads so much faster I installed a RRS lever release clamp on the leveling base of my RRS tripod then installed plates on the base of my ballhead and fluid head and slider so I can quickly switch between them. Then installed a RRS b2-LR-II clamp on my slider so I can attach either head right to the slider for rapid switching. It's expensive to do so, but for a professional who travels and shoots on quick moving shoots it's really worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big improvement overB2 AS II clamp My BH-55 originally came with aB2 AS II clamp that wouldn't properly grip my StackShot and several other Arca Swiss compatible pieces of gear. The B2-LR-II works well on everything. I also like its calibration markings better. Overall, while I hated spending to fix the BH-55, this unit makes the head really usable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best release I have ever used I hesitated when i saw the cost but bought one to try out. Now I have 5 releases on and am able to swap configurations in seconds, no messing around with allen wrenches making it much more enjoyable getting ready for a shoot. Excellent product, very secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent This is beautifully made and is a pleasure to use. Only trouble I've found is that some third party arca swiss plates are a tight fit. and sometimes a very tight fit, when trying to close the clamp lever fully. Pity there is not a way to adjust it. ??
