The 6" Multi-Purpose Rail from Really Right Stuff is a double dovetail plate designed to mount to the bottoms of medium and large format cameras, and the rail will also accommodate to a telephoto lens foot that does not exceed 4.75" in length. Really Right Stuff MPR-1 Overview

The 6" Multi-Purpose Rail from Really Right Stuff is a double dovetail plate designed to mount to the bottoms of medium and large format cameras, and the rail will also accommodate to a telephoto lens foot that does not exceed 4.75" in length. The rail has 4.3" of slotted length, so the lens foot can be adjusted on top of the rail.

Once the lens has been secured to the rail with the 3/8"-16 screw and adjusted, the MPR-C flange can be installed in eight different positions to prevent twisting on a ball head or clamp.

Right rail, wrong screws?

I ordered the 3/8” screw version, and received the right plate version (stamped 3/8) but it came with the wrong sized screws (1/4”). It seems RRS packed the wrong screws, not a huge deal but annoying. The plate itself is great, highest quality as all RRS stuff is.

I am in the latter stages of converting all my mounts to area Swiss mounts and this RRS rail is mounts to my medium format camera. Well-made and a very functional product.

How is camera twist prevented when using this ...

How is camera twist prevented when using this product? The anti-twist feature does not work.

This is meant to be used with RRS plates with the lip to prevent any sort of lens twist. On a larger lens foot with two 1/4'-20 screw holes, you can put in both screws to prevent twist.
