Audio amateur here . 2 questions. For bmpcc 6k rig id like to record with a shotgun and also a wireless mic system with lavs . Can I use something like the beachtek mcc2 to run a shotgun and this setup and have individual control over both levels ? If yes, is that mcc2 a good unit to use or is there something better ? If the answer is yes to the above question , how many lavs could I run off the wireless receiver ? I’d like to be able to record the room with the shotgun and have lavs on 3-4 people at the same time. Can I make them all separate tracks if I want to only use a few or would they all be embedded as one audio file. Also, would there be any issue in delay between the shotgun and the lavs? Is there a bette way to achieve what I’m trying to accomplish. Long question thank you !! I’m a one man band

Yes, you can use the Beachtek MCC-2 to connect both a wireless mic system and shotgun mic to the BMPCC 6K, and the MCC-2 does provide separate level controls for each channel. Since the MCC-2 is a passive two-channel adapter, the shotgun mic would need to have its own power supply (battery) since the MCC-2 can not supply power for the mics. There are other two-channel camera adapters available that are active (battery powered) and offer more features like XLR inputs with phantom power and 3.5mm inputs with plug-in power. There would not be a problem with delay in the audio between the mics on each channel. With regard to the AVX-MKE2 wireless lavalier system, only one lavalier microphone can be connected to the transmitter and only one transmitter can be paired with the receiver. You will need separate complete AVX-MKE2 wireless systems (mic with transmitter and receiver) for each person and a separate mixer to connect multiple wireless mic systems. If you record the audio in the camera, then all tracks are embedded. If you want to record audio for multiple mics and have each mic on a separate track, then it would be best to record them using a separate multitrack audio recorder such as the Zoom H6 which offers six inputs and six tracks, or another multitrack recorder. That would allow you to have control of the individual mics and tracks. You can sync the audio with the video in post production. Since there are numerous options available, please feel free to contact us directly and we can help you to put together a system that will be best suited for your needs.

There are no specific best settings to use with this product in any given situation. Your best bet will be to experiment with different settings and run tests to see the results.

Will a regulated DTap to MicroUSB Cable (output 5V) be able to power/charge receiver? Like this one: GyroVu D-Tap to Micro-USB Regulated Adapter Cable (30")
Asked by: Huay-Bing
I charge both proprietary batteries from a garbage brand usb charger regularly in the field in my backpack. I’m not saying that’s ideal for battery life long term, but I only have one backup battery for each and when I change batts I put the other on usb charge, with that you should be in good shape for a long time. I’ve never had to go back to battery one (6hrs maybe total, so not a full production day but for a solo event shooter it’s fine) but I would imagine two batteries with the first one immediately put back on generic usb charge would still get you almost a full charge while the other ran so you’d get close to unlimited with only two batteries for each, don’t hold me to this, but get two for each and with 5v you should be in good shape.

question

Can I connect two MKE2 Lavalier in one EKP XLR Receiver? Example: an interview with two people talking.
Asked by: Victor B.
No you can not. Anytime two transmitters are being used, you would also need a dual channel receiver. As of now, the Sennheiser AVX system has not come out with a dual channel receiver. You would need to complete systems in order to use two mics.

Is there any protective case for the body packs available? People seem to always drop these.
Asked by: Andrew
While there are no protective accessories made specifically for the transmitters in the Sennheiser AVX-MKE2 SET Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System, there are some third party options that could be implemented to help protect them in this scenario. A product such as the Remote Audio URSA Pouch for Wireless Transmitters (Medium, Beige)(BH #REURSPCHMEBE), although soft, could help to minimize contact with hard surfaces if dropped: https://bhpho.to/3xMUVCj

Yes, the Sennheiser SK AVX Digital Bodypack Transmitter included with the Sennheiser AVX-MKE2 SET Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System can be connected to the output from a mixer and used to transmit line level audio signal to the system's AVX EKP Camera-Mount Plug-In Receiver.
