This base plate adds convenient quick release functionality to your camera, making it easy to attach to standard RRS dovetail tripod heads or other pieces of equipment. It features magnetic storage for the included hex key and a QD socket for attaching slings, wrist straps, and more.

After having one of these plates on my Olympus E-M1 mk1 and finding it really helpful, when my new to me E-M1 mk3 arrived I immediately ordered one for it. It arrived today and just like all RRS products it is very nicely machined and finished, fits fine being top notch quality as we have come to expect from RRS. This plate adds about 1/2" to the camera and makes it fit the hand better and doesn't weigh the camera down and increase the size like a battery grips do. Of course you have to carry a battery in your bag instead of on the camera but that's no problem. The plate allows full access to the battery door making battery changes a snap with the plate in place. One of the nice features of this plate is the built-in Arca-Swiss mount for easy tripod use and for a tripod without the Arca-Swiss mount, there is a !/4-20 thread hole for mounting it. This plate comes with a handy 5/32" allen wrench to tighten the screw that mounts it to the camera. There is a cut out in the bottom with two magnets for holding the wrench. Unlike one of the other raters, mine was arrived in perfect shape, no doubt due to the great packing that B&H always does.

Nice add on for a smallish camera. Added a bit more grip surface with no noticeable change in weight. Fit body very well. Provides for quick change from carry strap to tripod and the integral allen wrench is a life saver when plates or other parts need snugging up in the field.

Absolutely no problems. I have RRS base plates on all of my cameras and they don't affect the camera.
