This UPS has an integrated LCD display that shows information on the utility and system status, and PowerChute Personal Edition software can help track power quality, configure alarms, and shutdown your computer during an outage.

When compared to the previous generation of APC's Back-UPS systems, this model features a more compact design with a smaller footprint, surge protection improvements, and improved 1Gb dataline protection. Also featured is a limited lifetime data-recovery warranty and a limited 3-year warranty for the APC unit.

    APC BX1500M Reviews

    Absolutely worst battery life

I purchased the APC Smart-UPS C 1000VA UPS which works absolutely great. I've had it for 3+ years and have had a few fail-overs where it kicked in and worked like a charm. Haven't had need to replace the battery at all to this day. So I purchased a couple of these APC Battery Back-UPS Pro BX1500M units a year later expecting the same reliable performance and have been sorely disappointed. Battery life is a joke. They have had maybe 2 times where they were needed and kicked in. Not long after the annoying alarm won't stay shut off. Constant beeping everyday that has to be manually turned off b/c it sounds off everyday. No way to shut the silly thing off permanently. By the time I have replaced the batteries in both of these useless units I could have paid for the more expensive unit and saved $$$ Looking for another solution now. Probably will put these up for sale on Craigslist or something. Totally disappointed

I have 3So I'm going yo use the 3rd and they all work great!

I've had 2 of these for several years. Finally, after about 5 years, one of them started indicating a bad battery (maybe). I wasn't 100% sure. The price of a new unit wasn't significantly more than buying a new OEM battery so I bought the unit. It worked great. Then I decided to purchase a replacement battery and try it in the malfunctioning unit. I figured that if it didn't fix the broken one, I could always use it in one of my other 2 units when one of their batteries died. But I installed it and the broken one worked again. Now I'm going to use the 3rd UPS to power my modem, router, and 2 network printers. I live in an area that has several power interruptions each year and these units have functioned perfectly whenever they occur.

    Doesn't last very long.

I have a tower PC and monitor hooked up, with a small router and phone, and the battery doesn't even last 10 minutes from full, with the PC idling. It drains so quick I can literally watch the squares in the battery icon go away the minutes I watch. This should get me a good half an hour at least, but comes nowhere close. I'm going to look elsewhere for UPS during my next purchase, which will probably be soon since this one doesn't seem to really work well.

Easy set up with my Synology NAS, router, and modem. I have not had a chance to test it out yet. Waiting for the next power outage - which will come sooner or later.

Initially I received this product in around a week or so and after opening the package it was scratched, the side plastic was cracked, and if softly shaken, one could hear loose parts inside. After talking with support, I got immediate help with replacing the product free of shipping and received a new one, this one is in perfect conditions (no scratches, cracks, or any loose parts sounds), and has been working without any problems as of now after a month of use with my PC, two monitors and some other things. Even though I'm disappointed with my first buy being a broken product I'm more than satisfied and happy that I received help from support and had it taken care of, receiving a new functional one.

I purchased this battery backup because I worried about loosing data on my PC during a power outage but it also has other great features as well such as energy usage monitoring. I got it just in time too. After having it for a few days we experienced our first power outage of the winter and my PC kept running while the power came back on! I love it.

Hello, Since this unit is Simulated Sine Wave will it be able to power my G Tech External Hard Drives for about 10 minutes? That is of course depending on how many hard drives I have connected. Usually 3-5. Or will I need a Pure Sine Wave unit? Also I reside in the Philippines and the Voltage here is 220 Volts. Can I connect this unit to a Voltage Reducer? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You. John
    Asked by: John
I back up G Tech external RAID systems, and many other digital electronics, with this specific APC unit and have never seen problems. The runtime on battery will depend on the entire load. You can run a 120V UPS from a 220V main for 120V loads with a permanently-connected and properly-sized (big, heavy) step-down transformer, but other voltage reducers are not going to work.

    Asked by: codi
The heat generation from these units is negligible once the battery is fully charged. I have used one unit on is's side on the lowest shelf of an 18"x18"x48", enclosed/fan ventilated, media cabinet for over two years without a problem.
