Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f/2 Overview
Ultra wide-angle prime is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides a 15mm equivalent focal length.
This lightweight version of the lens weighs 20g less than the standard version, making it better suited for aerial/drone photography. It shares the same optical design and metallic build quality, however some of the parts have been redesigned and replaced in order to reduce the overall weight.
Bright f/2 maximum aperture benefits working in dark and difficult lighting conditions.
Rectilinear design renders scenes with straight vertical lines and minimal distortion for a more realistic portrayal.
Two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements are featured to minimize spherical and chromatic aberrations for sharper, clearer, and more color-accurate imagery.
Frog Eye Coating has been applied to the front element to help repel water and dust.
Manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 4.7" away.
Accepts 46mm screw-in filters and a petal-shaped lens hood is also included.

As a follow up to my original Review, to better demonstrate the distortion; here is a composite photo of 29 images of the Moon and Venus (November 9, 2023 8am) positioned across the entire FOV. [Venus was focused at center of image]. The image may be sharp at center; but the fall off? This lens belongs in one place and I'm not surprised that Venus Optics did not reply

Having to buy one should I buy the UltraLight version or the normal (20$ is not the point). Is the UltraLight (more expensive) better or, given lowest weight, is worse (for example due to more plastic and less metal) ?
The UltraLight version is more so meant for use on drones for aerial photography.

If you are focusing on a flat plane parallel to your camera's sensor, and the subject at the corner of the image is at the focus distance set by the lens, then yes, the corner of the image should be in relatively sharp focus, though there may be some vignetting at f2.
