I use a 400mm L as my walk around lens. Is it better to use the lens mount in the holster so the camera and lens don't separate or is the camera mount enough?
When using the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-2 , it is good to start off mounting the camera to see if one comfortable that way. Then try the lens mount.

Has anybody used this while riding a motorcycle or mega scooter (like Suzuki Burgman)?
I can only answer in regards to the way I have used mine and what my best guess would be on a motorcycle or the like. I have not once had a camera not stay in place while using it in any situation. I can't speak to how much it would affect the way you can maneuver a motorcycle but I did use mine on a rented bicycle in a National Park but that is nothing like riding a motorcycle. As to the damaging the equipment if you were to wreck, I leave some of my equipment lying on my car sets when I'm out shooting and it's going to be damaged if I'm involved in a wreck but that's the last thing I worry about in that situation. As far as the CC doing it's job, my opinion is absolutely. Will it affect the handling of the bike? That's is based on the drivers ability and something only the driver can answer.
