Rotational molding is a three-stage heating process that results in evenness all around the edges of the case. The polyethylene material is inserted into a mold, and then gradually rotated until the material sticks to the edges of the mold in an even pattern. Once cooled, this plastic material forms a strong bond that minimizes sagging and potential collapse.

I got this because my tripod was destroyed by an airline. I don't want that to happen again.

My full tripod, with head and plate still attached, is totally protected by this great case, be it for just getting around location or international travel (flew Dallas to San Diego and LA to London) I would highly recommend this case to anybody

SKB does it again. This tough as nails rolling case is a champ for air coddling my O'Connor through airports and across tarmacs/endless parking lots. Super sturdy, strong wheels, not hard to balance in hand thanks to the 2 integral handles and we'll padded top & bottom. I have an SKB laptop case what has served me well for years.

Can anyone please post a picture of this tripod ...

Can anyone please post a picture of this tripod carrier fully open inside? I have a promidea 42 series tripod with Katana gimbal attached and it measures 40 inches from head to bottom end and I just want to know if it fits inside without any issues. Thanks

Case itself is in a warehouse so no pic, but I can tell you there is a lot of leeway in the length, the top is held on by an adjustable strap and as such the lid can be left "off" probably at least 3 or 4 inches and the case is still securely closed. We can fit 2 tripods and a green screen stand in one of these easily.

question

I have a tripod that's 38 long and about 9 wide. I'm wondering how much foam is in either end of this 41 SKB case (1SKB-R4111W) and whether or not I would be better off with the 42 case (1SKB-R4209W) that's longer but only 9 wide (the 41 is 11 wide)... would that one be too tight a fit width wise I wonder? Any thoughts?

About 1.5 to 2 inches foam top and bottomI extended my 28 inch tripod to 38 inches and you would not be able to mate the top to the bottom, there would be an open space between top and bottom. Also the 29' has NO wheels. the tallest a tripod could be and still allow the lid to mate on the base would be 30-32 inches. Obviously, if you removed the foam you could pick up another 3-4 inches.
