Peak Design SLL-BK-3 overview

  • 1Description

Carry your equipment in comfort and style with this black SlideLITE Camera Strap from Peak Design. This strap uses strong, removable anchor connectors that attach to the eyelets of your camera or the included mounting plate, holding up to 200 lb of gear and easily supporting most DSLR and mirrorless systems. By pairing this versatile connection with a long adjustable length from 39 to 57", the SlideLITE can be configured to work as a sling, shoulder, or neck strap.

The strap has a width of 1.3" and is made of nylon webbing that is padded internally to help ensure comfortable use. Its two sides feature different properties: one side is smooth for sliding the camera to your eye when set up as a sling, while the other has a silicone grip that prevents slipping when using it on your neck or shoulder. The four included anchor points attach and detach from the strap with a single hand, and can be left on the eyelets so you can easily switch between cameras while shooting.

  • Wearable as a sling, shoulder, or neck strap
  • Adjustable length from 39 to 57", and a width of 1.3"
  • Removable anchors used to connect to equipment, hold up to 200 lb
  • Leave anchors on your gear so you can easily attach and detach them from the strap while shooting
  • Smooth and non-slip sides that allow you to choose the amount of grip desired
  • Internally-padded webbing provides improved comfort without being bulky
  • Four anchor connectors and a tripod plate are included with the product

    Peak Design SLL-BK-3 reviews

SLL-BK-3 SlideLITE Camera Strap (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice strap If I give 5 stars it means perfection. I love this strap, it is beautifully designed and executed. I got the Lite and that will likely be the one I use the most, but I can see that if I’m carrying my 100-400 all day I may wish I got the full size. Time will tell. I really wanted low profile and low bulk for on board a kayak and short treks into the wood or marsh. Had to take some time to get used to the clips, but once I spent a few minutes really understanding how they worked and learned to press HARD to disengage, I love the strap. I really like when I am not using the strap I don’t have bulky, annoying strap parts hanging off my camera. Pricey but top quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice strap, impractical tripod plate Build quality is great. Anchors are nice an allows a really quick change. They sell other straps compatible with the same anchors. My problem is with the tripod plate. It needs a Hex wrench to attach it... a hex wrench. The strap doesn't provide a way to carry the included hex key, so basically you need to carry it wherever you go. I already missed a shot because I didn't have the hex key with me and I wasn't able to use my mini-tripod! This happens when your design puts aesthetics over usability

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Secure, Easy to Use I purchased this sling for my D7100. I shoot sports and use a 70-200mm f/2.8. The sling that came with my camera would often dig into my neck and get uncomfortable by the end of the day. This strap is very smooth and comfortable to use for long periods of time. A big selling point for me was the ability to connect one point to the bottom of my battery grip rather than the top of the camera. I dislike having my strap cover my view finder while shooting vertical. Also, the swivels make it very easy to remove the strap for when I use a tripod. The swivel construction is also very sturdy. My setup is decently hefty, and I never felt worried to let my camera hang from them. A bonus for me was the lack of over the top branding like that found on my Nikon strap. I prefer to be more subtle and not a walking billboard while I am out. Overall, this strap is exactly what you would expect. It keeps your camera on you without eating the back of your neck. The metal adjustment points are sturdy, but may feel a tad large for some users. If you like the look and the price doesn't sway you, then it's definitely worth the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product This is a well designed product. The strap is easily adjustable, and one side on the top of the strap has rubber sections so if you want to put in on the side of your shoulder it will not fall off. The other side is regular for around your neck. And the strap can be removed so quickly for your tripod work - WOW!!! It gets a 4 and not a 5 because in my opinion the bottom of the straps don't have a closure to keep it narrow so they tend to flop around a bit. Don't let that stop you from purchasing this strap, I've already purchased a second one for my other camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice strap for mid-weight gear This a particularly nice setup for something like an Olympus/Panasonic-sized camera with a larger lens like the Olympus 40-150 Pro. I have been using the PD Leash as a strap for its lightweight and slippery feeling (worn like a sling), but it's a bit light for a heavier lens. I had the earlier version of the Slidelite, and this one has some nice improvements, particularly the ash color, general quality, the slightly slimmer connectors and the new anchors that are tapered and have smaller diameter cords, so they go right through the camera eyelets. My only wish is that the connectors could be even smaller (for a smaller camera, they are pretty big) though I minimize that by using 1 anchor on the tripod socket, thus keeping the right side of the camera completely strap-free. Peak Design stuff just works really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is all you need, is plenty big enough I own all three Peak Design straps plus the wrist strap. The "SlideLite" strap is all you need. It is just the right size for any medium-sized to small camera. The bigger "Slide" strap is way too large for anything except a full-size, heavy Nikon or Canon DSLR. I have the "SlideLite" on the Leica M240 and it is just right. The "Slide" strap is way too broad and heavy for a Leica camera. The "Leash" Is quite good on a smaller camera such as a Leica a CL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the right size I own three different sized peak design camera straps, and this is the perfect one. It is the right size both for a larger camera and for quite a small camera. The bigger broader strap, which is just called Slide is a bit too large for my taste. It is big enough for a gigantic Nikon or Canon camera. Slide light is plenty big enough for both a large DSLR and a smaller mirrorless camera, a Leica M240. this is an excellent camera strap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I wanted all along I've been looking for a good solution to my problem of usually wanting a strap, except when I get out the tripod and want to unclip while shooting. I initially bought the much beefier Peak Design Slide based on their recommendation for it matching a DSLR body and didn't like how thick, wide and stiff it is around the neck nor how much physical space it consumes when folded up. Others may like it, but I really had no other issues with the stock Canon strap besides it being a royal pain to attach/detach it from the body. The 1.3" wide version of this is exactly the same feel as stock, with the adjustable length as an added bonus so I can quickly go from carrying the camera in front of me or messenger style. This is what I wanted all along.
