Sony C-100 High-Resolution 2-Way Condenser Microphone
Key Features
  • Made for Ultrahigh-Resolution Recording
  • Cardioid, Omni & Figure-8 Polar Patterns
  • 20 Hz to 50 kHz Frequency Response
  • Two Diaphragms Handle Separate Timbres
Impressively clever in its design, the Sony C-100 condenser microphone uses two capsules in a two-way configuration to effectively capture immense bandwidth from 20 Hz to 50 kHz with transparent, uncolored accuracy. The 1" true condenser capsule handles frequencies from 20 Hz to 25 kHz while the secondary 0.7" electret condenser capsule takes the 25 kHz to 50 kHz range, making the C-100 compliant Hi-Res Audio standards and a stellar tool for detailed recording of vocals and full-spectrum instrument sounds.

From Manufacturer

Impressively clever in its design, the Sony C-100 condenser microphone uses two capsules in a two-way configuration to effectively capture immense bandwidth from 20 Hz to 50 kHz with transparent, uncolored accuracy. The 1" true condenser capsule handles frequencies from 20 Hz to 25 kHz while the secondary 0.7" electret condenser capsule takes the 25 kHz to 50 kHz range, making the C-100 compliant Hi-Res Audio standards and a stellar tool for detailed recording of vocals and full-spectrum instrument sounds.

The C-100 microphone features three selectable polar patterns— cardioid, figure-8, and omnidirectional—to allow great versatility in the studio. Onboard switches are provided for a low-cut filter (helps control rumble and proximity effect) and a -10 dB pad (raises the maximum SPL to accommodate louder signals without distorting). The C-100 borrows the noise elimination structure used in the legendary C-800G to prevent acoustic vibration and yield low noise. Additional isolation from vibration is provided by the included shockmount. The mic also comes with a windscreen, mic stand adapter, and carrying case.

Pro-Quality Sound
Two-way diaphragm structure realizes both broad high range and resonant mid-low range and gives great vocal presence
Wide Frequency Response
Broad frequency response (20 Hz to 50 kHz) to ensure superb sound reproduction quality for High-Resolution Audio
Noise-Eliminating Construction
Two-part metallic body structure succeeded from C-800G microphone prevents acoustic vibration, resulting in low noise and clear sound
Three Polar Patterns
Switchable cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 polar patterns for various recording applications
Low-Cut Filter
Low-cut filter switch helps eliminate low-frequency noise and proximity effect
Pad Switch
-10 dB pad switch provides added headroom and minimizes distortion caused by transient peaks

Sony C-100 Reviews

Best Mic

This mic far exceeded my expectations. Love this mic and all it offers. I have this mic paired up with the Rupert Neve Shelford Channel Strip and I swear it is like owning the Sony C800 just the little brother of it. It is an amazing mic. This is my new go to mic, my new work horse. I had a Neuman TLM 103 and this mic blows it out of the water. My next investment will be a Sony C800 and I am only buying it here with B&H. I trust them and they are great with orders.
