This B&H Kit features the Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom Matte Box with a 114mm clamp lens attachment and two step-up Threaded Adapter Rings. The Misfit Atom is a clamp-on matte box, and the adapter rings allow you to attach it directly to the filter threads of compatible lenses. Included are 77 to 114mm and 82 to 114mm adapter rings. The Misfit Atom is made of aluminum, stainless steel, and elasto polymer and holds up to two filters without using filter trays.
The Misfit Atom 4 x 5.65" / 4 x 4" Ultra Lightweight 2-Stage Clip-On Matte Box from Bright Tangerine is a small, lightweight yet strong, clamp-on matte box for lenses with an outer diameter of up to 114mm. It holds up to two 4 x 4" or 4 x 5.65" filters without using filter trays, and provides a wide field of view suitable for many wide-angle lenses even with two filters mounted.
The removable flexible hood is built to hold its shape over time, even in temperature extremes. The matte box with hood weighs in at under 7 ounces, only 3.5 ounces without the hood. This makes the matte box suitable for use with gimbals and Steadicams, and the removable hood makes the matte box an excellent choice for aerial shooting.
This 77 to 114mm Threaded Adapter Ring for Clamp-On Matte Box from Bright Tangerine is essentially a step-up ring that allows you to mount a clamp-on type matte box to your lens with a filter thread diameter of 77mm. However, this adapter features a rear projecting 114mm ring, as opposed to most other step-up rings that project forward.
The adapter allows you to mount your clamp-on matte box closer to the front of your lens, reducing the possibility of vignetting with wide lenses. However, its design precludes using it to mount filters on your lens. The adapter features a step cut that allows you to use it with the Bright Tangerine Black Hole adapter. Please note the Black Hole adapter and matte box are not included with this item.
