This B&H Kit features the Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom Matte Box with a 114mm clamp lens attachment and a Donut, Top Flag, 15mm LWS Rod Bracket, and an accompanying Rod Bracket Attachment for securing the matte box to the rod bracket. The Misfit Atom is a clamp-on matte box made of aluminum, stainless steel, and elasto polymer. It holds up to two filters without using filter trays. It also supports optional threaded adapter rings for attaching directly to lens filter threads.
The Misfit Atom 4 x 5.65" / 4 x 4" Ultra Lightweight 2-Stage Clip-On Matte Box from Bright Tangerine is a small, lightweight yet strong, clamp-on matte box for lenses with an outer diameter of up to 114mm. It holds up to two 4 x 4" or 4 x 5.65" filters without using filter trays, and provides a wide field of view suitable for many wide-angle lenses even with two filters mounted.
The removable flexible hood is built to hold its shape over time, even in temperature extremes. The matte box with hood weighs in at under 7 ounces, only 3.5 ounces without the hood. This makes the matte box suitable for use with gimbals and Steadicams, and the removable hood makes the matte box an excellent choice for aerial shooting.
The Bright Tangerine Black Hole Mini Rubber Donut fits on Bright Tangerine's Misfit and Misfit Atom matte boxes, as well as compatible ARRI matte boxes, allowing you to use lenses with a front outer diameter of 58 to 114mm. The rubber donut is flexible, making it especially useful for lenses that change length as they change focus. The donut snugs to your lens, allowing the lens to rotate without letting light flare your filters.
Designed specifically to attach to your Misfit Atom matte box, the Bright Tangerine Carbon Fiber Top Flag can be used when you are using your rubber hood with your matte box or not. The top flag attaches to the built-in Aux Port of your Misfit Atom matte box and features over an inch of forward/back adjustment. This adjustment compensates for the depth of the matte box hood.
The top flag articulates 180°, which allows you to fold it down flat to cover the matte box/hood, or fold the flag straight up and completely out of the way. A locking lever governs the articulation, allowing you to set and lock the flag into the position that you choose. Included with the flag is the mounting hardware, so you can easily add this accessory to your matte box.
The Bright Tangerine 15mm Lightweight Rod Bracket Type 4 allows you to convert your Misfit matte box from a clip-on or swing away type to a rod mounted matte box. This provides you with a simplified rod mounted solution for your Misfit matte box. To complete the conversion you will also need a Bright Tangerine 15mm Lightweight Rod Bracket Type 3, which is not included.
The Bright Tangerine 15mm LWS Rod Bracket can be used for multiple purposes within different setups of Bright Tangerine gear. In some cases additional accessories are required.
On its own, the 15mm LWS Rod Bracket allows you to attach Bright Tangerine Misfit 143mm Clamp-On matte boxes and Viv and Viv 5" matte boxes to 15 LWS rods (MFR #s B1230.0016, B1230.0017, B1210.1010, B1210.1011, B1210.0010, B1210.0011, B1210.1010, B1210.1011, B1210.0012, B1210.0013).
If you incorporate the optional 15mm LWS Bracket Adapter (MFR # B1230.1005), the Rod Bracket can be used to secure Misfit 114mm Clamp-On and Misfit Atom matte boxes to 15mm LWS rods (MFR #s B1230.0014, B1230.0015, B1230.1007, B1230.0011, B1230.0012, B1230.0013).
The 15mm LWS Rod Bracket is also a required accessory when using the Strummer 19mm and Strummer 15mm Studio Brackets (MFR # B1200.1017 and B1200.1018).
